Dear Parent/Caregiver,
Award Winning Schools ! Congratulations to all of our nine PBL Community Schools on winning a prestigious Award at the 2019 NSW Ministers and Secretary's Award for Excellence held at the Sydney Town Hall Tuesday 27 August 2019. The Award was for the Raymond Terrace Community Positive Behaviour for Learning Program. On the 12th September the Director of Education Leadership in the Port Stephens area, Mrs Patricia Bowen, will present certificates to each of the Principals from the participating schools at Market Place Raymond Terrace at 6.00pm. Raymond Terrace Public School, Hunter River High School, Seaham Public School, Irrawang High School, Irrawang Public School, Medowie Public School, Grahamstown Public School, Salt Ash Public School and Karuah Public School. SO PROUD of all those involved, including our great staff who design and teach the values and behaviours expected in the community and the students who have demonstrated their commitment to their behaviours by receiving awards at the Thursday night ceremonies !!! Canteen News The Canteen is open Monday to Friday.
Lunch/ recess / fruit break orders need to be handed in by 9:15am, must include child’s name and class. Please order from the NEW Jacaranda Café RTPS 2019 Menu.
Our School Concert ‘Kaleidoscope’ is 12 days away!
Students are currently rehearsing and refining their performances.
Tickets are selling fast!
There will be 3 performances over 2 days:
Tuesday 17th September Evening Show 6:30pm - SOLD OUT
Wednesday 18th September Matinee 11:30am
Wednesday 18th September Evening Show 6:30pm
A separate note with more specific information will be sent home today. Students need to be dropped off at 6pm. There will be no teacher supervision before this time.
Families wishing to purchase from the canteen can do so between 5pm-6pm. There will be drinks, food, lollies and a sausage sizzle available to purchase before the show.
No food, drinks or prams will be allowed in the hall.
It is assumed all students will be present at all performances. We ask that you let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible if they won’t be available for any of the performances, so appropriate adjustments can be made.
Our format will be slightly different this year, with a shorter show and a whole school finale that you won’t want to miss!
We will be filming for the DVD on Tuesday 18th September at the Full Dress Rehearsal during school hours. A DVD of the School Concert will be available for purchase. A note and order form will be sent home next week.

Colours Theme
When sending money to school with your child
for excursions, stalls, camps, etc please ensure
the money is secure in an envelope/bag
labelled with their name, amount, and reason
(message or note).
ONLINE PAYMENTS
Log onto the school website at
http://raymondter-p.schools.nsw.edu.au, click
on “make a payment” and follow the prompts to
make a payment via Visa or Mastercard. Only
the fields marked with an asterisk* are
required. Please record your receipt number on
the permission slip.
CASH PAYMENTS
It is preferred that all cash payments are sent in
an envelope with the family name clearly
printed and correct money enclosed. Payments
made at the office will still be enveloped and
correct money is required as change is not
always available. There is NO EFTPOS available.
No cash is kept on the premises, therefore we
don’t keep a float. Thank you for your
assistance.
Please note, canteen orders cannot be paid
through school online payments.

Congratulations to the following students who have earned PRC badges since the last newsletter: Stage 1 – Leilani, Odin, Solaina, Elijah, Aleah, Harry, William Stage 2 – Ethan F Stage 3 – Kaine, Seth, Amelia, Shannon, Ethan F, Jack B The Premiers Reading Challenge has finished for 2019. Congratulations to all the students that completed it –
you will receive your certificates in Term 4. Thank you so much for your amazing support this Book Week. Congratulations to all our Scholastic voucher winners. We raised over $1 500 in Scholastic Rewards for our school. Book Club Issue 6 has closed – Issues 7 & 8 will go home in Term 4.

Drop & Run
When you arrive at school please assemble outside the gates. A staff member will open the gates and take you around to the sign on tables. After dropping your child to school you are welcome to stay and have some afternoon tea and listen to our information talks.
Early Stage 1 TARONGA ZOO Kinder will be visiting Sydney’s Taronga Zoo in Term 4 on 23rd October. Full payment is due 14th September.
Stage 2 AUSSIE BUSH CAMP Aussie Bush Camp will be on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd November. Final payments due 8th November.
Up coming excursions Term 4 School Swimming Scheme
School Swimming Scheme will run in Term 4 for two weeks from 28th October to 8th November. School Swimming Scheme is an intensive learn to swim program, which develops water confidence and provides students with basic skills in water safety and survival. The Scheme is conducted over ten days. Each daily lesson is 45 minutes.
If your child is in Year 2 or 3 and has not reached a satisfactory standard of water safety and survival skills and unable to swim 25m confidently unaided in deep water he/she would be eligible to participate in the scheme. There are a limited number of places. Notes will go home soon with more details and costs.

MultiCat classes are asking the whole school community if they can please collect and bring in plastic bottle tops/lids and/or bag tags for Envision Hands to turn into plastic filament for 3D printing of mobility aids. This is part of a new integrated unit that Multicat Classes will be learning, designing and implementing in Term 4 that will include technology (3D printing), recycling and STEM.
