• Exchange with the scientific community– Individuals, societies– Other projects and initiatives

• Inform citizens and policy makers - society at large

Approach and methodology

• Identification of target for dissemination– Industry

• Breeders and germplasm curators • Growers, technicians and other actors along the fruit chain • Industry associations

– Scientific community• Project partners – INTERNAL COMMUNICATION• Research groups in other related projects • Scientific community in general

– Society at large • European citizens• Politicians

Approach/methodology

• Message adapted to each target– Methods and tools for the breeders and

germplasm curators• Indirect effect on the industry

– Fundamental results for the scientific community

– Message for the larger public audience– Legislation

Approach/methodology

• Selection of best communication channel– Internet based communication– Presencial meetings– Hardcopy materials: leaflet, posters booklets,– Training sessions: generation of e-learning

INDUSTRY

1. To ensure implementation of genomic tools in breeding programs

2. To allow usage of fruit species genetic resources

3. To build European Breeding Platform

Genomic tools and knowledge generated will make more efficient breeding programs and usage of genetic resources to obtain high quality disease resistant varieties to fulfill the needs of consumers and societyThere is a need for long lasting cooperation between genomicists and breeders to make more efficient breeding program.

FRUITBREEDOMICS will generate new knowledge and tools that will allow more efficient use of fruit genetic resources and productive breeding programs that will result in high quality and disease resistant varieties to fullfil the needs of european consumers and society

FRUITBREEDOMICS will enable genomicists, germplasm curators and breeders to cooperate through the long lasting EUROPEAN BREEDING PLATFORM to create new high quality and disease resistant varieties

SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY

SOCIETY AT LARGE Genomic tools and knowledge generated will make more efficient breeding programs and usage of genetic resources to obtain high quality disease resistant varieties to fulfill the needs of consumers and society

New high quality and disease resistant varieties will be more readily avalaible through the usage of genomic tools making exploitation of genetic resources and breeding more efficient

Message (1)

• FRUITBREEDOMICS will generate new knowledge and tools that will allow more efficient use of fruit genetic resources and productive breeding programs that will result in high quality and disease resistant varieties to fullfil the needs of european consumers and society
