the main stage really began.

Formerly known as PDA’s and mobile computers,

the first ever app dates back to the mid 1980’s in

England. Years later it would transform into the

PalmPilot, Nokia 6110, and thanks to Steve Jobs

the smartphones that we have today.

Information Literacy

when information is needed and have the ability

to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the

needed information.

When used in conjunction with social media

applications, users tend to face difficulties in

assessing proper usage.

Why it matters

Media and information literacy matter because

people all walks of life need to deconstruct media

messages and critique the quality of information

sources.

Some challenges the social media environment faces:

2. Mass Media are full accounts of the dangers of predators using your

public information

3. Inappropriate and illegal communication

4. The soaring popularity of personal websites that can cause

commotion or confusion.
