Overview
BPM is a team sport. But to be a real player means bringing people together first. And that’s exactly what the Gartner Business Process Management Summit 2012 did for two and a half dynamic days in Baltimore. More than 700 process practitioners gathered for the ultimate coverage on today’s hottest BPM topics, trends and technologies. If you were looking to make rapid progress on your BPM initiatives and improve your own skills, this was the place to do it.
The vehicle for all this high-impact learning: a brand-new four-track agenda with the vision, tactics and energy to make every process practitioner successful — regardless of their organizational role or where they were on the BPM maturity curve. In addition to more than 40 sessions — including analyst-led roundtables and hot-topic workshops — attendees had the chance to meet with every significant BPM technology vendor at our Solution Showcase. Buzzing with excitement, the show floor offered a real-time look at today’s BPM marketplace, and was also the scene of a sold-out book signing with keynote speaker and well-known author Patrick Lencioni.

gUeST KeYnOTeSTransforming Your Business With GamificationGabe Zichermann, Author, Public Speaker and Entrepreneur
Zichermann brought together the best elements of game design, loyalty programs and behavioral economics, and showed how gamification harnesses our intrinsic desire for fun and mastery to turn the mundane into the exciting and the menial into the momentous. Attendees discovered how to harness the power of games to achieve theirprocessobjectives.
Healthy Organizations Win: How to Harness Your Organization’s Full PotentialPatrick Lencioni, Founder and President, The Table Group
Along with a few good laughs, Lencioni shared a healthy organization is characterized by minimal politics and confusion, high morale and productivity, and low turnover. But too often it focuses exclusively on marketing and strategy. Organizational health can surpass all other disciplines in business as the greatest opportunity for improvement and competitive advantage.
gArTner KeYnOTeSDriving Organizational Success by Combining Social Media and Business Process TransformationAnthony J. Bradley, Group Vice President
Socialmediaismorethanjustmarketingcommunications, andmorethanFacebook,Twitterand LinkedIn. It is also extends beyond the enabling technologies. Anthony Bradley shares how social media’s power stems from engaging communities, both internal and external to your organization, in new ways to achieve otherwise impossible enterprise value. It is about working differently in a new age of human behaviors fueled by mass collaboration. Business process transformation is at the heart of social media success or failure.
Business Process Management 2020Jim Sinur, Vice President
The momentum now behind BPM is indisputable, but will the BPM of 2020 resemble at all what we see today? Jim Sinur shared how the nature of work is evolving and the amount of knowledge networking applied to processes is growing dramatically. The current trend, of processes flexing around the changing nature of work, is the opposite of past processes wherein work was dictated by the nature and structure of processes. As organizations move to intelligent business operations, process management will change. Sinur’s keynote investigated the nature and scope of this change.
