A Teenager’s Guide to Managing Parents.

• Students often complain about being bored and having nothing to do through the long school summer holidays. You have been asked to give a talk to your class giving your views, with suggestions and recommendations for making the most of school holidays.

How can you help?-

Reading: Expose students to a variety of non- fiction texts in preparation for the Language exam: autobiographical pieces, newspaper, magazine articles, formal letters, famous speeches,

Homework: Ensure students complete all homework – this is particularly designed to reinforce classroom learning and practice retrieval skills essential for exam success.

Quotes: Encourage them to learn short quotations early on in the year in preparation for closed book examinations!

Attendance: Try to ensure that your child attends every lesson and, if absent, that they have caught up onthe work missed.
