ValleyA valley a stretch of low land lying between hills or mountains and usually having a river or stream flowing through it.

Glacier

A glacier is a slowly-moving river of snow and ice.

Waterfall

A waterfall is water thundering over high cliff faces with enough force to pound the local geography into new shapes and forms.

It’s the steep descent of the water of a river.

Tributary

A stream that flows into a larger stream or other body of water.

Gulf

A portion of an ocean or sea

partly enclosed by land.

• An isolated area of vegetation in a desert,

typically surrounding a spring or similar water source. Oases also provide habitat for animals and even humans if the area is big enough.

Canyon• A canyon is a deep valley with very steep sides -

often carved from the Earth by a river.

Fjord• A coastal valley which was sculpted by glacial

action.

Lagoon

A lagoon is a small, shallow

body of water between a

barrier island or a coral reef

and the mainland, also a

small body of water

surrounded by an island.

• A sea is a division of an ocean or a large body of

salt water partially enclosed by land.

• A sound is a wide inlet of the sea or ocean that is

parallel to the coastline; it often separates a coastline from a nearby island.

to flow through.

Suburban• Something that is suburban is located or residing

in a suburb.• (A suburb is a residential district on the outskirts

of a city or town.)

• A plateau, also called a high plateau or tableland, is an area of highland, usually consisting of relatively flat terrain.

• A marsh is a low-lying wet land with grassy vegetation.

• A dense, impenetrable thicket of shrubs or dwarf trees.
