Introduction

My famous African American is George Washington Carver. He is known for inventing lots of things one of the things is peanut butter.

CHILDHOOD George was born in Missouri on the

Moses Carver plantation in 1864.

George Washington Carver died in Tuskegee, Alabama on January 5th about 78 years of age

While he was a baby slave traders kidnapped him and his mother. Only George was returned to the plantation.

SadnessHis parents were slaves. His father died right before he was born.

PoornessHe taught himself to read. His Family was so poor that they couldn’t afford to buy a pencil. He made a holder and used a pencil that was 1.4 inches long.

DiseasesWhen George was a baby he had a disease called whooping cough. He was left very sick and he couldn’t do hard work like the other slaves His chores were cooking and sewing

The 3 R’sGeorge would tell people, "Don't throw any thing away every thing can be reused he would often tell people.

Un important things

Money, clothes and cars were not important to him. He thought the successful person was the one who had learned to serve others.

Peanut ButterGeorge Washington Carver invented Peanut Butter!!! So that means Peanut Butter has been around for a long time!!!
