ABOUT THE PLAY
"WEST SIDE STORY" is based on Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet", a story of younglove which ends in tragedy. We hope that our presentation will point out the strongerstatement this vehicle makes concerning the tragedies of prejudice and war. It is ourwish tonight that you be entertained, of course; however, we hope that you will alsoleave with an awareness of today's desperate need for love and understanding amongall nations and all people. Perhaps through their performance tonight, this cast hasshared in making their world a better place than the way they found it.
