Pollokshields

Pollokshields is located on the south side of Glasgow’s main river, the River Clyde. It’s an historic neighbourhood first founded in 1849. It’s a conservation area with many of the buildings, including our school, afforded listed status. Today it is an area of ethnic diversity, home to Glasgow’s largest Asian community.

Our school

Our childrenPollokshields has a roll of about 250 children. The vast majority of our pupils are bilingual. Other languages spoken in the school include Urdu, Punjabi, Slovakian and Mirpuri.

This year we have been involved in a partnership with a school in Ghana. This is through the British Council’s Connecting Classrooms project.
