Instructions- view this tutorial and then meet back with your Working Party to complete the Group task. Once you have completed the Group Task you need to do the following:

1- download the Goal Setting Sheet from Moodle- Collaborative Unit page2- complete the Goal Setting Sheet and attach it to your Digital Portfolio on the ULTRANET

When you have completed viewing this Video- consider the following and record in your Digital Portfolio your thoughts to the following questions.

1- What strategies do you think Kurt used to overcome this incredibly difficult task?

2- What was his overall goal?

3- Did you observe him setting any smaller more immediate goals throughout the video?

When you have answered these questions in a WORD document, paste them to your DIGITAL PORTFOLIO

Your next task is to complete a group task within your WORKING PARTY. Move now to your working party to complete the goal setting task.

GOAL SETTINGWhen you are creating your goals we would

like you to consider the SMART approach to creating goals. SMART is an acronym for-

Goals that are- S specificM measurableA achieveable R relevantT time-bound

GOOD GOALS / BAD GOALS (LONG TERM EXAMPLES FOR YOUR CORNERSTONE PIECE)SpecificBad Goal- I want to complete a Cornerstone PieceGood Goal- I want to complete a Cornerstone Piece on Ecological balance that investigates

the balance between making money and the environmentMeasureableBad Goal- ‘I want it to be the best’Good Goal- I want my Cornerstone Piece to have convincing tables, interesting graphics

and pictures and include written information that convinces people of the need to balance the environment with making money

Achievable-Bad Goal- I want to create the best Cornerstone Piece that smashes everyone else!!Good Goal- I want to create a Cornerstone Piece that includes information from1- internet research2- Community Groups3- Government Organisations

These are just examples of the first three letters in the acronym SMART. See how you go at completing your own goal setting sheet for both Phase 1 (week 4 in the FLC) and your overall C
