What is ACT TravelWise
• ACT TravelWise is the professional body for Smarter Choices and Travel Planning measures
• Over 400 member organisations, both public and private sector
• Independent – non-profit members association with elected directors
• Important role in influencing decision makers & setting out “Best Practice” industry standards
• Main body for the delivery of Travel Planning training courses in the UK
• Links with partners in the USA, Europe and Australasia
• The Association for Commuter Transport (ACT) and TravelWise merged in 2008 to form ACT TravelWise.
• ACT was formed in 1997 by BAA, Nottinghamshire County Council, Boots, SDG and the DfT offering training and sharing best practice in Travel Planning
• TravelWise was formed to provide a common brand for all local authorities involved in Smarter Choices work to use.
