Substrate-adhesiveaffinity

Affinityoftheadhesiveformula$ontosubstrate...paper,metal,orplas$cwilldeterminethebondstrength.Thelowerthesubstrate’ssurfaceenergy,themoredifficultitisfortheadhesivetowet-outandstronglygripthesurface.

Surfacetreatmentisgoodprac$cetoachievehigherbondstrength.Polyolefins(e.g.,PPandPE)requiretreatment.Thelowtemperatureresistanceoftheseplas$csrequiresaddi$onalconsidera$on,becausethethinnergradeswilldistortunderthehigherdosagerequiredtocure1-2milfilms.
