Tonight’s Top Ten Google Tools for Educators

Presented byGreg Brown

Number 10

Students find facts and organize them in thisunique search feature.

Number 9

Convert any webpage intoa PDF file from any web browser.

Great for students or teachers to be able to turn a webpage into a .pdf for easy email use.

Number 8

A collaboration tool that is partinstant messenger, part wiki page.

Students can work together in real time. Students work together with messages, text, maps, photos, videos, and more.

Number 7

Student exit cards are a hassle, have students blog instead. Great for students to comment during a literature circle, science lesson, or anytime you want students to write.

Number 6

Search for an image of anything. This incredible search provides thousands of images for use in any presentation. Great for finding pictures to help students learn new vocabulary words.

Number 5

A great tool for students who can’t afford MS Office. Students create documents that look like Word, Exel and PowerPoint.

Number 4

See cities and explore mountains all in 3D. Build students background knowledge of any location they read.

Number 3

Explore the bottom of the ocean and sunken ships or take a 3D trip through the buildings of a city. Build students background knowledge of any location they read.

Number 2

Explore planets, nebulas, and distant galaxies. Trace the movement of a planet over time. Hear podcasts from astronaut and other expert on space and find research on outer space.

And the Number 1 Google tool for educators is…

Number 1

Information overload. Students researching but wasting time on meaningless or unproductive searches. Limit the search to specific website you select by designing your own classroom or research project search engine.
