Leadership & Team BuildingCourse Description:

To be successful today, companies must show customers they can provide higher quality, deliver better service and create more value than competitors. Companies are achieving these goals with high performance teams. This module will focus on foundations of teamwork and leadership. Students will learn skills to improve communication, increase effectiveness and create trusting relationships among groups of employees. Leadership issues such as conflict and change will be discussed. Students will examine their own leadership styles and ways to better relate to co-workers, managers and customers.

Leadership & Team Building

Strategic PlanningCourse Description:

Strategy is used by corporations, sports teams, government agencies and even the local bakery. Successful leaders know that events outside the company as well as capabilities inside the company impact long-term success. This module will look at strategy and the tools that can be used to evaluate the company’s current strategy. Students will be challenged to look at different approaches to evaluate opportunities, expand markets and influence the long-term direction of the business. As a capstone project, teams will be given the opportunity to create a strategic business plan and present it to the seminar class.

Strategic Planning

Strategic MarketingCourse Description:

Positioning, branding and marketing are words that are used a lot, but sometimes carry little weight. They are often overused but are vital to establishing a strategic approach to the marketplace. This module teaches the foundations of building a brand, and communicating the essence of that brand through words, colors, emotion and service. This module begins with an understanding of who the customer is and how to best create value for them through a company’s product or service. Sales principles, both face-to-face and online, that are persuasive and build trust are examined. Teams will work together to apply the marketing principles learned and create their own strategic marketing plan.

Strategic Marketing

Innovative ThinkingCourse Description:

In today’s data-saturated economy, not only are new businesses being created every day, most new businesses are built on new data and new technology to solve new problems. This module walks students through the steps of evaluating opportunities and developing an innovative mind and culture. It will examine ways to redefine problems, work with others to arrive at innovative solutions and to build up problem solving skills. By studying other innovators and the events that lead to breakthroughs, we can put ourselves in a position to create a product or service that can lead to business success, or even radically change the way people live. Students will be challenged to develop a Personal Development Plan to stimulate their own innovative thinking.
