CELEBRATE ADVENT!! The celebration of Advent is rich in rituals and!symbolism and is one of the best times for parents to!help their families grow closer to God. The traditions! that families establish during Ad-vent build lasting!memories and are an easy way for parents to catechize! their children. You can find Advent materials posted on!the Family Life Office webpage at:!

“Let it be done to me . . .”! The Blessed Virgin Mary’s re-sponse to the Angel Gabriel is the reci-pe to true and lasting happiness, to
peace, to joy. Of course it is not always easy in fact it can be incredibly difficult at times but accepting God’s plan in our lives is the surest path to true happi-ness. Even when it doesn’t seem to make sense! May you have a truly blessed and peaceful Christmas and may we all be open to the grace to follow Our Lady’s example.!

WEDNESDAY PRAYER, 6:30pm, !Sacred Heart Church!
!! All are welcome to join in a time of quiet inter-cessory prayer for parish renewal, as well as any other intentions you may have on your mind and heart. Our “Novena of Wednesdays” continues this week, on De-cember 27th at 6:30pm. If you are unable to physical-ly be present at Sacred Heart on Wednesdays at 6:30pm, consider stopping and offering a simple pray-er for the intentions of parish renewal right where you happen to be. Thank you!!
IT’S HAPPENING! !WE WILL BECOME ST. PETER’S PARISH!
! Bishop LaValley recently consulted with the Council of Priests in our diocese, to consider our re-quest to form one parish from our currently existing two. The proposal was approved. This means in the very near future, we will become ST. PETER’S PARISH. In the coming year, 2018, we will be busy with the legal process of establishing St. Peter’s Par-ish . . . and even more importantly, creating the culture to attain the vision we’ve been reflecting on through-out Advent. !
TRINITY WINTER FUNDRAISER!! Trinity is excited about this year’s winter fund-raiser. Tickets are now on sale after all Masses.! Ten dollars will buy a chance at a top prize of $10,000 and a 2nd prize of an allexpenses paid trip for 4 to the Do-minican Republic with $1,000 spending money!! The drawing is on January 7 after the 11:00 Mass at St. Mary’s. !!This important fundraiser has a HUGE impact on the school budget. !Thank you in advance for your support of TCS!!

An Important Note About Our!CHRISTMAS COLLECTION!
! !! Traditionally, the Christmas collection is a “split” collection that is, a significant portion of the offering at Christmas is sent to the Diocese of Ogdensburg Retire-ment Plan for Priests. The exact proportion is determined from year to year by the number and needs of the retired priests in our diocese. Also, 100% of the cost of health insurance premiums for retired priests is paid by the Plan. Because of this, 75% of the Christmas collection will go to the priests’ retirement fund. You will notice that the envelopes for Christmas Day in the packets for our envelope users; 75% of offerings made with the Christmas envelope will be earmarked for the priests’ retirement fund. !
