Zeus-is the "Father of Gods and men", according

to Hesiod'sWho ruled the Olympians of Mount Olympus as a father ruled the family;

He was the god of sky and thunder in Greek mythology.

Poseidon

Poseidon-was the god of the sea, and, as "Earth-Shaker," of

earthquakes in Greek mythology.*The name of the sea-god Nethuns in Etruscan was

adopted in Latin for Neptune in Roman mythology.

Athena

Athena: is the goddess of war, civilization, wisdom, strength, strategy, crafts,

justice and skill in Greek mythology.*Athena's Roman

incarnation, embodies similar attributes.

Hades

Hades: refers both to the ancient Greek underworld*The abode of Hades, and to

the god of the underworld

Hera

Hera:was the wife and one of three sisters of Zeus in the

Olympian pantheon of classical Greek Mythology.

*Her chief function was as the goddess of women and marriage

Apollo

Apollo:is one of the most important and diverse of the

Olympian deities in Greek and Roman mythology.

*Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of light and

the sun

Ares

Ares : is the Greek god of war. "Ares is apparently

an ancient abstract noun meaning throng of battle,

war.*He is one of the

Twelve Olympians, and the son of Zeus and Hera
