preparing for delivery
delivery methods:1.impromtu(on the spur of the moment)2.manuscript( written out completely)3.memorized(written first then commited to memory)4.the extemporaneous(carefully prepared)
The extemporaneous
it have two ways in deliveredspeech:1.develope delivery outline of key words/phrases.
2.formulate note cards of key words/phrases.
Few suggestions to use note cardsa.use small cards.
b.note card should legible.c.numbering the note cards.
d.avoid too much details.e.highlight the idea to stress
The manuscript1.should be clear(clarity)
a.using an oral style.b.choosing concrete words.
c.using specific words.2.should be interesting
a.touch five senses of audienceb.use desciptive language
c.use real-taking techniqued.use active voice
3.should be appropriatenessuse an appropriate language,structural sentence,correct
grammar.
Writing and revising your speech
a.set aside an adequate block of time in which to write your manuscript.
b.write your first draft as soon as possiblec.skip every order line and leave sample marginsd.write your speech as if were talking to friend
e.try delivering your speech into a tape recorderf.don’t afraid to much
g.allow a cooling-off periodh.should be specific.
Practicing the speech
1.allow ample time for practice2.always practice with same media
3.always practice as if you were delivering it to your intended audience
4.go through the entire speech during each practice
5.do not try delivering your speech with same way6.gesture must me spontanious
7.practice aloud and a lot8.practice at least once in the room you will
present it.
Stage fright*the fear that they will not do as well as they
would like toexample: rapid pulse,shortness of breath,and

cause of stage fright* the speaker see the situation as threatening
than friendly*worrying too much
