CreationIn a world of fire was Volcanus, the supreme dragon god. His existence in Volcarnivore felt empty without a family or subjects, so he decided to create the first Volcarnivorians.

Volcanus breathed lightning across the land giving birth to a powerful race of dragon people.

They rose from the ashes with wings, tails, and wondrous abilities including being able to breathe fire. The Volcarnivorians needed to drink the lava of the Great Volcano in order to maintain their magical abilities.

His wife Marganth was the love of his life and gave birth to his twin boys, Dragonus and Nilanth. As all things require balance, Dragonus was good and Nilanth was evil. Volcanus was pleased with his creation and happy to have a family to share his reign with.

FloodFed up with the cruel and narcissistic beings his people had become, Volcanus once again breathed lightning. This time he used it to start a massive storm that brought with it a catastrophic flood. The rising waters washed away all the volcanic lava that was necessary for the Volcarnivorians to maintain their magical gifts.

At first the dragon people were able to fly to higher ground and avoid the flood waters, but as the storm raged on, they lost their ability to fly when they were unable to replenish themselves with the lava.

Slowly the dragon people were all consumed by the flood except for a select few. Ashenfield knew

Volcanus’s plan and felt there were some Volcarnivorians whom followed Dragonus’s

influence who remained pure of heart and mind. Ashenfield warned them of the coming flood and

the loss of their abilities.

He instructed them to build a boat and sail to the mountain in which he had grown a special cherry tree. He told them that the flood would not reach this tree and its fruit would sustain them until the flood waters receded.

These survivors lost their wings, tails and

all magical abilities but rejoiced in the

fact that they were spared. They were

now the first humans and repopulated the

earth. The Volcarnivorians may

have drowned into extinction, but their

tales of dragons and magic live on.

Dying and Resurrected

Even though Zinnath is married to Dragonus's twin, Nilanth, she yearns for Dragonus's powerful position in the hierarchy. She attempts to seduce Dragonus, and her advances are spurned. Furious, she burns Dragonus to ash with magic flames brought on by her sheer evil will.

Volcanus knows what has happened and resurrects Dragonus with the Flame of Life. He banishes Nilanth and Zinnath to the underworld, which is when they become the rulers of the underworld. 

Afterlife

When dragon people die with honor, they ascend to the sun to burn eternally in the paradise flames of Flamehalla.

When dragon people die a dishonorable death, they are led by Nilanth to one of the poles to have their flame extinguished forever.

When death is neither honorable, nor dishonorable, they are in a limbo-like state inside the earth melting rocks for magma,

which is food for living dragon people.
