SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE
JANUARY 18, 2015
INTRODUCTION
JOHN 15:9-13
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
How do we grow in love with God and with each other? The mark of the world is hatred, but the mark of the DISCIPLE is
LOVE
INTRODUCTION What is Love? Love is often described in terms of feelings. True love -- in NT called agape love -- is not based on feelings
at all. Agape love can change your life and set you free. And it all begins with a decision you must make. Agape love is a decision to consider the needs of others .. to live
sacrificially ... to give without demanding a return .Most of all, agape love is a decision to receive and respond to God's love.
As the Bible says, "We love, because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19).

JOHN 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
Jesus showed His love by laying down His life for us.
Q: Would you lay down your life for the people in this room?
Ought to lay down our lives for other
Self-sacrifice is never convenient. Example: Parable of the Good Samaritan: We must not ignore others’ needs, but rather,
sacrifice our time, energy, and money to help them out.
We need discernment and wisdom to know how best to help a needy person.
Love unites people through practical deeds of self-sacrifice.

JOHN 15:8-11 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear
much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
We are bearing fruit each time we share the Gospel with someone else.
If you have experienced the love of the Lord Jesus, you will also want to introduce Him to others!

Bearing fruits means Multiplications, duplication and reproduction.
Every disciple should multiply, duplicate himself and reproduce his own. (as a disciple)
He should bear fruit. His fruit is a tree of life. It is a God-given mandate to every believer to
reach out to his family, relatives and friends
