STATISTICS revealed by npow-er’s Health Through Warmthscheme show, even though thiswinter has been particularlymild, that it has received morethan 1,800 referrals from resi-dents across Carmarthenshirein need of heating help.

The organisation works witha range of community groups,charities and authorities to as-sist vulnerable homeownerswith the funding and installa-tion or repair of crucial heating

measures in their home.Since being founded in 2000,

more than 85,000 vulnerableresidents across Wales havebeen referred to the scheme forassistance with heating and in-sulation.

Elaine Midwinter, npowerscheme manager, said: “Warmthin the home is vital to wellbe-ing.”

Homeowners who have a long-term illness, a low income with

little or no savings and who areunable to fully fund heatingmeasures in their homes may beable to benefit from the scheme.
