atrium. A central courtyard located in the center of the building with slides from floor to floor, see-saws and swings in the waiting area.

Hospice ConnecticutLocation: Branford, CTType: Waterfront Retreat (1,560sqft)Features: Cafe, work space, reading space, stage, dinning space, and out-door patio. Memory wall located on paths in gardens.

Entertainment SpaceThe red rectangle space is where the stage and water closet are located. This rectangle is positioned upwards so that the light coming in from the top would give it a spiritual feeling as you are in the space.

Dialogue SpaceThe white rectangle is where a dinning and café area would be located. This space is to be the neutral space of the three rectangles. This is where the main entry is located and where the exit to the exterior patio is located.

Seclusion SpacesThe yellow rectangle is where a chil-dren’s activity space and reading and work space is located. This rectangle is also positioned upwards to give it a spiritual feeling. The spaces are partitioned with glass walls to give the building the feeling of an open floor plan.
