As 2011 draws to a close, it is only appropriate that John bladel be recognized for his four and a half years as president of the Advisory board of Governors.
As members of the 2011 Advisory board of Governors and on behalf of the Hammock beach community, we want to take this opportunity to declare our sincere appreciation for John bladel’s guidance and leadership as president of the AboG. His dedication to the Hammock beach members and their issues and concerns have always been his primary task and one which he has taken very seriously. He has demonstrated this time and time again by attending - not only the regular AboG meetings and the one on one meetings with reynolds, Noble management, Carlton Grant and the Hammock beach managers – but almost all of the committee meetings as well. John always wanted to be on top of the main issues and provide direction, knowledge, counsel and support to us where and when he could.
John’s approach to solving member issues and concerns has been democratic and collaborative. He advised, but did not dictate, and he encouraged us to discover answers independently. You request his help and he is there. If you are frustrated, he will do his best to advise and encourage you to resolve your issue or concern.
John was - and is - pretty even keeled. He didn’t get too emotional one way or the other during his term. He listened to our feedback, digested it and objectively reacted to the situation. even though he may have had strong positions on an issue, John would acquiesce if the vast majority of the AboG members presented their case effectively. on the other hand, if John felt strongly about an issue, he would vigorously emphasize the benefits of his point of view. When John does get a bit emotional, we all take notice because it is out of the norm. At these rare times, whatever he is riled-up about is, generally, what we get riled-up about. even then, he picks his moments and his emotion is generally well directed and well warranted.
All of us at the AboG have truly appreciated John’s dedication, advice, leadership and, most importantly, his friendship. We will miss him on the board but I have a feeling that he will be lurking out there - somewhere in our midst - ready to help as we pursue solutions and remedies to members’ issues and concerns. After all, John really can’t help himself!
sincerely, the Past and Present members of the Advisory board of Governors

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday season and hope 2012 will bring health, happiness and prosperity to all.
At the last member & manager’s reception in December, Vijay singh, Vice President of operations for salamander Hospitality, announced three initiatives to be accomplished in the first quarter of 2012 to enhance the member experience:
1. evaluate and implement a real-time online Club member feedback survey program for members to immediately provide feedback to Club leadership on their experiences when using Club amenities and services.
2. elevate Club member recognition and services experiences throughout the Club by introducing team member training programs to develop a five star service culture in all Club staff.
3. Launch a Grand Collection membership program for all existing members to incorporate a reciprocal Club experience at Hammock beach, reunion resort in orlando, Innisbrook resort in tampa and other salamander Hospitality properties.
the members present to hear these initiatives were very pleased and excited and I am thrilled to be able to relay this to the members who were not able to attend. Club Leadership looks forward to working with members on these initiatives with feedback for continuous improvement.
on behalf of the entire staff at the Club at Hammock beach, I would like to thank you for your patronage and commitment to the Club in 2011 and look forward to your continued support in 2012.

Golf Pro Tip of the monthBow to the Right Knee for Added Power
brad Haueremail me
CoPPerHeD CoUrse, #5
This drill will help you get the feeling of maintaining the
proper powerful position.
Losing a lot of distance lately?
then more than likely, you are losing your posture somewhere during the backswing. You could be straightening up in your knees or standing up in your waist. either way, losing your posture will translate into losing power.
If you feel like you’re losing your posture, try to have the sensation of slightly bowing to your right knee as your body is turning during the entire length of your backswing. the proper sensation will feel like your belly button is going to make a slight motion to the top part of your right knee.
try this drill before you hit balls on the range to get a better feel for this power move. first, put your hands on your hips (1st photo), and then simply bend from the waist to your right knee (2nd photo). this drill will help you get the feeling of maintaining the proper powerful position that is required to add more distance to your shots.
