Happiness & Gratitude

Staff Development, November 19, 2013

THE HAPPINESS ADVANTAGE

Our brains are 30% more productive when we feel positive than when our brains are at negative, neutral or stressed. Which can produce the following:• better secure jobs• better at keeping jobs• superior productivity• more resilient• less burnout• less turnover• greater sales

(Lyubormirsky, 2005)

We can train our brains to be HAPPIER!

Create lasting positive change:• 3 gratitudes every day to shape lens• journaling to relive positive experiences• exercise to know that behavior matters• meditation to help our brains recover from cultural

ADD• random acts of kindness to make a difference for

others

Gratitude

Take five minutes and use one of the cards to write a note of gratitude. Seal it, write the address on the outside and we’ll mail them. If it’s a Norseman, just write the name and we’ll place them in the correct mailboxes. Place the cards in a stack at the center of the table.
