If you want to get an appropriate
job and retain it, then you should
have a repertoire of Hard Technical
Skills together with Soft Skills or
People’s Skills.
Administrative Assistants are
expected to have good typing speed,
may be of 100 words per minute.
Which employee will you retain? The
person who is with positive attitude
and willing to help? or the one who is
inflexible and hardly accept
mistakes?
The dentists need to do filling the
cavities. Which dentist will you
choose? One who pleasantly treats
you or one who considers you as one
of the numbered mouth in the long
queue?
Let Your Hard Skills shine well with your Soft SkillsKeep yourself stand out of crowd.
team may also know how to get along
with people and display positive
attitude, which are crucial for success.
But often these soft skills are
undervalued comparing to hard skills,
assuming that it is a universally known
facts, such as, to be on time, to be
friendly, to be initiative and to produce
high quality work.
And so it is very much essential to focus
on soft skills training along with the
hard skills.
Do you have the soft skills gap?
Soft skills accompanied with hard skills,
supports an organization to use its
technical expertise to its maximum.
Likewise when you consider the
accountants, the person who has the
best work ethics and encourages the
team will be the one who excels in the
organization in his position. In all
these situations, it is the soft skill
that matters. The technical skills or
hard skills may facilitate you to go
near the door, but it is the soft skill or
the people skill that opens most of the
doors for you.
Your attitude, your work ethics, your
communication skill and your
emotional intelligence and other
personal attributes are the greatest
soft skills that are very much needed
for success in career.
These soft skills will support you for
excelling in your leadership. If you
are having good soft skills then it will
be easier for you to motivate,
delegate, solve the problems and
support the team. Therefore, the

There are chances of soft skill gap in
an organization -
▪ If you are good in getting clients but
not good in retaining them
▪ If you have lot of staff turnover and
going on retraining the new staff
▪ If you have lots of managers and no
expertise leaders
You can examine and evaluate the
areas like
▪ Personal Accountability
▪ Degree of collaboration
▪ Interpersonal skills including
negotiation
▪ Conflict resolution
▪ Flexibility and Adaptability
▪ Creative Thinking

We, at READ, train the students
for employability training which can
bring changes in their Attitude,
Confidence and Skills of the
students, who belong to lower socio
economic strata from rural India.
Our training centres are well
equipped with infrastructure and
every program limits the maximum
registration to thirty students. This
allows the facilitator to give
individual attention.
Emphasis is on overcoming stage
fear and presenting themselves in a
confident way. Practicing on the
communication skills and
communicating in English is an
everyday affair in READ training
programs. Everyone is given an
opportunity to participate and

Redington Foundation as Students’ Crossroad
Redington Foundation Centres
has seen so many emotional
stories of the students and here,
in this e-magazine we would like
share one of a happy tears
bringing success stories to you.
M.K.Muthumari is orthopaedically
challenged girl with her legs affected
by Polio, Who is from an
economically backward family of
outskirts of Shengottai in Tirunelveli
district. She has one elder sister who
is married. She had completed her
schooling in Amar Seva Sangam and
finished ITI. Her family’s only breadearner, her father passed away
after her schooling.
After finishing her ITI she was in
constant search of a suitable job and
obviously that was her only option as her
family can no way afford her higher
studies.
In that period of time, future of
Muthumari became a mystery. She did
not have enough confidence and
communication skills to migrate to
another city in search of job.
During that time, she came to know
about our Redington Foundation’sprograms through Amar Seva
Sangam, Ayikudi and decided to attend
our Employability Training.
During the initial days of training, her
fear and lack of confidence did
not allow her to hope on our training. But
day by day she was able to feel changes in
her thinking ability, confidence,
behaviour etc. Also, she got the chance to
learn computer along with Tally course.
The successful completion of the course
facilitated her to get placed with Vindhya
Technologies, Bangalore for Voice process.
Muthumari moved to Bangalore and now
she is very happy about her job and very
confident to face the future.
Her entire family is very happy about
Muthumari and expressed their gratitude
towards Redington Foundation. She has
been working in Bangalore for more than
a year. Recently, she visited Ayikudi SLC
and expressed that this training is a boon
for her and God has given a new gateway
in her life through Redington Foundation.

1.Montessori Training
"Today's children are Tomorrow'sleaders" . Children are shaped in
their early stage of life and education
is a powerful role in developing them.
So, it is mandatory to provide right
education to children at right time.
The creative way of teaching is the
best method to make the children get
involved in the learning. Teachers
play vital role in the development of
children particularly between the age
group of 2.6 to 6 years.
Teachers are considered as second
parents to kids. Hence, it is important
for a teacher to possess some unique
qualities to manage and develop the
kids. Dr.Maria Montessori, Founder
of Montessori Education realised the
importance of this and she felt
education should stress theimportance of respecting children –“Helpme to help myself”.
subsequently increased so as to make this
interest fruitful to the low income group
women.
Scope of the training program:
Redington Foundation, in
association with Sri Venkateswara
Montessori Teacher Training Institute
offering the Montessori course in an aim to
Prepare the students to become Teachers in
Montessori schools.
➢ This training is offered to all Women who
have passed Higher Secondary Exams /
Graduation and are in the age group upto
30 years, seeking a career as a teacher.
Keeping that in mind. She started
her first classroom “Casa dei
Bambini” or Children’s House in
1907. Montessori education
celebrated its 100th year in 2007.
Redington Foundation as part of
its READ program expands its
footprint in Montessori Teacher
Training as it knows that our
country is in need of talented
teacher to handle today's children.
Because kids in this period are
easily distracted by electronic
gadgets and the media. Learning
about victory and defeat becomes
easier if they are taught by good
teachers.
Also, we can see much demand
for the Montessori Teachers in the
Kinder Garten Schools and Play
Schools. The interest for learning
the Montessori course has also

Freedom within Defined Boundaries
Our training programs at colleges inour Elite SLC is a unique training
program, while there is a module
developed from 80 to 100 days training
the trainers enjoys their freedom to
conduct the training in their own way
with a defined boundaries.
It enables the trainers to bring in more
creativity in the training so as to make
the trainees participate more actively
in classroom.
At Papanasam our redington CSR’sREAD program emphasized to enhance
the Employability skills of the students
in Thiruvalluvar College at
Papanasam.
Papanasam is a small town
surrounded by the rural villages where
• Interview skills with body
language and HR Negotiation.
• Agricultural debate (for group
discussion)
• Jallikattu debate at a court setup
( for communication skills )
• English Drama ( to avoid stage
fear and developing the
communication)
• Doctor and Patient humorous play
(to show the humorous through
body language)
The program was successfully
conducted and it had been an eye
opener program for first year and
second year students.
The honorable Principal of
Thiruvalluvar College Dr. Alagappan
gave full support and coordination
the students don’t have awarenessabout their future goals after the
completion of their graduation .
When Redington Foundation entered
into the college there were two
challenges before them.
The first one was to tune up the
mindset of the audience to attend the
program for developing their
Employability Skills, second one was
developing the communication skills
in English .
The students needed an Ice Breaking
session to be conducted for the
students so as to resolve the above
mentioned challenges. Therefore the
trainers came up with an idea to
conduct a program where the
students can voluntarily participate.
The following five major topics where
take into account to conduct the
event,
from his college side with assistance of
Dr. Murugesan, HOD, Maths Dept .

Somehow we have misunderstood
academics to be education.
From schools to universities any
educational institution imparts only
academics and everybody's focus is tilted
too much towards academics. It's true
that academics is one important part of
education but academics alone is not
education.
As Albert Enistein said “ Education is
not the learning of facts, But the
training of the mind to think”.Redington Foundation accomplishes the
training that makes your mind to think.
We strongly believe that spoon feeding
in the long run teaches a student
nothing but the shape of the spoon and
hence we only instil interest in young
minds and make one stand on one's own
feet.
Academics can teach you how to read
but
Academic Education Alone Is Not Enough, Because…
your learning on Soft Skills will teach
you to understand where to apply
what you read. It’s The “Non AcademicSkills” That Deepen Social & Life
Skills
For academics, mind is a vessel to be
filled with teaching. For us, mind is a
fire to be kindled and that is "ELITE
SLC".
Formal academic education is not
enough to acquire skills and
competencies to succeed personally
and professionally.
All the organisations expects an
employee who has the skills such as
Verbal and Written Communication,
Creativity, Self Motivation,
Interpersonal Skills, Team Work and
so on. They also believe that it is easy
to train those employees for the work.
Are the academies training the
Education without values makes man
a more clever devil. At Redington
Foundation, we not only train
students to be good but also to do
good. With a good head, good heart
and a literate tongue, we not only
enable our students to read history
but also to make history. When
academics aids you in making a
living, "ELITE SLC" makes for you a
fortune.
students to face such an employer?
The painful answer is obviously “NO”.Through our Employability training
we impart confidence, confidence
breeds hope, hope breeds peace and
peace is everything what mankind
needs.

Redington rolled out a programme

For most of us, at least one teacher
stands out in our memories —someone who encouraged, enabled and
inspired us to do our very best.
Teachers play a tremendous role, not
only in the academic achievement of
students, but in the attitudes and
abilities they carry with them beyond
the classroom.
On 5th September 2016, in the event of
the Teacher’s Day, Redington
Foundation designed a program to
honour outstanding and innovative
teachers in all disciplines who instil in
their students a love of learning,
possess deep knowledge of subject,
improve students’ performance, andwho better equip their students with
the skills needed to meet their
challenges, by recognizing them with
the ‘SAHYOG Award’ for the
exemplary services to the Student
Community.
In continuation of the program, this
year also 25 teachers were identified11

affected since one year and because of
various reason they are unable to pay
the fees.
Ramsamaj president highlighted during
his speech, that so far this venue was
and honoured by the Foundation. As usual,
a new initiative is taken to identify and
honour people who contributed their values
for the development of student community
and promoting education.

Many a times we interact with the
students and understand the
ambitions of the students. Many of
them share their wish list and at
times, we do get a real painful
story behind such wish. One such
event happened in Pazhani,
Dindigal District, Tamil Nadu that
one of the student’s neighbour
family lost their head due to
inadequate medical facility in their
village and it prompted him to
target to NEET exams to become a
doctor to serve his village. Again
getting equipped for compete in
such exams, facility is not
available in their nearby towns
and they are required to go to
cities like Madurai, Coimbatore or
Trichy for getting prepared for this
NEET Training
all other private Medical colleges’entrance examinations across
India, to provide a common ground
for admissions in medical and
dental colleges.
It aims to bring uniformity to the
admission into various medical
courses NEET has constitutional
status, and the Medical council of
India amendment 2016 recognizes
the NEET examination as the
single common entrance
examination and qualifying criteria
across the country.
The students of Tamilnadu faced
greater difficulty in preparing
themselves with the required skills
and knowledge to perform well and
crack the NEET and to getadmission in medical colleges, due
exam. The cost of such coaching is also
very high and not affordable and due to
distance the time and safety of girl
children also one of impediment for
dreaming such course.
Understanding the requirement and the
development in the education system,
Redington Foundation, included coaching
to the rural children for preparation for
NEET exams one of the activities for
FY’18. To start with, the coaching is
started in Pazhani and on finding success,
it would be replicated in Cuddalore and
other parts of Tamil Nadu.
NEET - National Eligibility Cum Entrance
Test, was introduced in the year 2016 as
single common entrance examination for
admission into Medical and Dental courses
across India. NEET replaced AIPMT, and
to differences in the syllabus of CBSE
and SAMACHEER education system of
Tamilnadu.
An Entrance examination, to identify
the right candidates for taking up the
coaching program offered by Redington
Foundation is conducted and
evaluated.
Redington Foundation had joined
hands with Competitive Edge
Academy, Chennai for providing the
NEET coaching, after careful
consideration of the credentials.
Students chosen, are offered training
by eminent professors, during the week
ends, and also, a meticulous training
is provided to the students after the
completion of the board examinations.
Money should not be a reason for giving up the dreams!

OUR GREATEST RESPONSIBILITY
Google answers “India” when the
question “Which country has more
youth population”, is asked.
However, google includes india in
the countries that have the highest
rate of unemployment. What a
contradiction! It is said to believe
that the country which has more
youth population, probably will be
wealthy over adult populated
country (country which has more
elder population).
There is a quote “Youth can doanything”, even our country’s prideSwamy Vivekananda asked for 100
Don’t we have sufficient
youngsters to bring the change?
Yes we do. Where are they? What
are they busy with? Where do
they stand? What makes them
stumble? Most of the youngsters
are of the age between 18-30. All
their struggle is to get a job and
be settled in a comfortable life.
What is a big deal in it? Yes it’s abig deal.
Having trained our students only
to score high marks for these
many years, has return on
investment as students with low-
self esteem, who are afraid to set
simple goals for their life. They
are emotionally unaware, Who are
not able to understand what their
emotions communicate to them.
They have become a believer of
external locus of control, who
blames the situation for not being
successful.
youngsters to change the world.
What medicine would be injected
to make those stem to grow as a
strong tree. Soft skills would be
the best appropriate medicine to
make the root strong. No medicine
can give the full cure or relief if it
is not injected on the right time.
Yes, soft skills must be injected
from the sapling stage of the
youth. This helps our country to
become a strong healthy incubator
which takes care of its babies
protectively. As the quote says
“85% of one’s success is attributedto soft skills and only 15% to
technical skills”, Our younger
generation is in the need of best
medicine “Soft skills”.As the best quote suggest
“Educating and supporting our
youth is the best way to invest in aprosperous future”.
They depend on external
motivational force rather than believing
in self-motivation.
Let us all invest and fulfil our
responsibility by serving the root.

children on the 05th September
evening. While each and every
performance of the children was
applauded by the viewers. The theme
based skit delivered by the children of
PMRC (Parent Managed Respect
Centre) was great in its kind.
The skit presented by the special

about how the differently able children
are better in their own way than the
