Dear Parents and Carers There was great singing from our children at the Easter Service yesterday along with
thoughtful prayers and good behaviour. It was good to see Reverend Anne and also parents who came along.
Many Camden schools are embarking on ‘Meat Free Mondays’. This is a worldwide campaign encouraging us not to eat meat for one day each week and replace it with vegetarian proteins
instead. We have decided to participate as we are a healthy school and promote healthy eating. See the article in this newsletter for more information.
Easter Bonnet Day today was a huge success. So many children made some fantastic bonnets. A child from each class received a prize for the best hat and it was extremely difficulut to
choose! Thank you to all of the children and parents for their huge effort. I hope you all have a restful Easter break and we look forward to seeing you on Monday 16th
April when school opens for the first day of the summer term. Kind regards Miss Belton, Headteacher

A Prayer for Easter
Blessed are you, Sovereign God. Conqueror of death, your light invades the places of darkness, restores sight and joy to the blind and summons those enslaved by death to walk free in hope. For us Jesus poured out his life like water and lay bound in the dusk of death. In his rising a new world is created, where light, goodness and joy spring forth. Joy of those who walk in darkness, Destroyer of death, Hope of resurrection, blessed are you, Sovereign God, Light of the World. AMEN
For the past four weeks, Years 5 and 6 brass bands enjoyed being involved in the Camden Jazz Connect project. We have had trumpeter Claude Deppa coming in to work with us, teaching us how to play by ear and helping us to improve our improvising. During the performance on Tuesday to the rest of the school, we were joined by three percussionists. We played two songs – The Homecoming and a piece by Dizzee Rascal. Mrs Waller-Box

Last week, Year 3 spent a day making music with some students and fellows from the Royal Academy of Music. We used a mixture of class percussion instruments to compose on as well as our voices. It was great to see the instruments the musicians from the Royal Academy brought in with them including a harp! We finished the day with a performance of our rainforest composition to the rest of the school. Mrs Waller-Box
Last Friday we enjoyed a performance by all the children who learn guitar in our school. Some played solo while others played in pairs and groups. It was great to hear our guitar club playing for the first time. They were even able to play and sing at the same time! We were especially impressed by the level of playing that the year 6 guitarists are achieving. Mrs Waller-Box
Reception had a wonderful time at Kentish Town City Farm on Monday. Farmer Chris gave the
children a tour around the farm and told the children many interesting facts about the animals! There were several activities for the children related to The Little Red Hen and The Three Little Pigs, which were two of our focus stories this half term. Ms Sheehan
Nursery had a lovely time when they visited the farm on Tuesday. They learnt that “All girl birds
lay eggs”. They also learnt about strong materials by roleplaying the story of “The 3 little pigs” and
learnt that we need to grind wheat to make it into flour. Ms Mani
