Message from the Asset Manager
Our biggest asset are the people and the plant and we
believe that the more people are educated and
informed about our working environment the more fun
this place will become to work or visit. Hence, for
sometime now we had been planning to put out a small
booklet, which could educate and assist the new staff and casual visitors about Kadanwari. We now have
Miano producing into the plant therefore it made sense
to issue this document once the tie-in is complete so
that the newer aspects of the plant could also be
included into the booklet. The intention of thisdocument is to provide basic education to all about the
Kadanwari plant, the people, the culture, the rules and
other general information. We hope you will find this
document useful & enjoyable and will provide us with
your positive feedback in order to further improve our
immediate working environment.

Plant Process Overview
The principal process unit on which the CentralProcessing Facility (CPF) is based is a Membrane
separation package by which removal of the necessary
CO2, water vapour and the bulk of the H2S from the
process gas are achieved. Some pre-treatment is required
firstly, to remove free water from the well fluids received
at the CPF, and then to cool the gas and remove
condensed liquids. The Membrane package only removesabout 80% of the H2S from the feed gas. To achieve the
required concentration in the Export Gas delivered from
the CPF, an “H2S Polishing Unit” obtains further
additional H2S removal. Thereafter the hydrocarbon dew
point of the gas is reduced by partial depressurisation,
with consequent cooling, to remove a small quantity of
hydrocarbon condensate. After treatment and
conditioning the gas is analysed and metered before being
exported to the SSGC 24” Trunkline. Two Sales Gas
Compressors are provided in the line between the Dew
Point Control and the Metering Skid to boost the gas
pressure, if required, up to approximately 1200 psig. The
permeate from the Membrane skids will during the earlyoperation of the process plant be vented through the vent
system to the atmospheric vent.
During normal operation this permeate gas is
recompressed in Recycle Compressor C-0700 and
processed to remove the hydrocarbons and then re-
injected back into the inlets of the Primary Membrane
units. This improves the efficiency of the process anddecreases the amount of vent gas released to atmosphere.

Liquids recovered through the cold separation process are
stabilised and stored in a condensate storage tank until
road tankers for disposal or sale collects them
3.0 Major Kadanwari Safety Hazards
Kadanwari operation has the following safety hazards.
- Toxic and Flammable gases
- Pressurized Vessels at 1300psi- Mechanical and Electrical related activities
- Fire
- Driving
Methane, H2 S and CO2 release are the main toxic and
flammable gases and hazards in Kadanwari operation.
Following are the controls, which are in place to
counter these hazards.
3.1Fire and Gas Detection System
This includes
- Smoke Detectors
- Infrared Flame Detectors

These fire and gas detector equipment provides a
first line of action in case of any release of gases
as Methane, H2S or CO2 or fire in the plant and
automatically activate the shut down of plant
Permit to Work System
Permit to work system at Kadanwari provides anoperational safety control. Kadanwari requirement
permit to work procedure that is in place is an
alive document. Following types of Permits are in
use
