DP vs CPWhat Program should I pick?DP is a two year college prep program.◦ Focus is academics◦ You have to take 6-7 IB courses each year.◦ More rigid for scheduling.

CP is a two year certificate program that combines academics with your career pathway.◦ You are required to take 3 IB courses and your career-

related course.◦ More flexibility in scheduling.

Requirements:

study six subjects from the six subject groups of the IB circle

write a maximum 4000 word extended essay

take the Theory of Knowledge course (TOK)

actively volunteer in creativity, activity, service (CAS).

Each subject has external assessments that are graded by IB examiners.

DP Core requirementsCAS stands for Creativity, Activity, and Service•18 months beginning Junior year• All the things you already do in your community: service, band, theater, sports, art car, clubs, etc.The Extended Essay (EE) is a 4,000 word research paper on a topic of your choice.You begin working on your Extended Essay in your

Junior year, with help in the Theory of Knowledge class.
