In many respects Saturn and Uranus are opposites. Saturn values tradition and structure, while Uranus prefers innovation and is open to future possibilities. Saturn respects the past, while Uranus looks to the future and follows the road less travelled.

On July 21-22 both these planets will appear stationary in the sky. Saturn is stationing direct, while Uranus is stationing retrograde.

This is arguably one of the most dramatic turning points we will witness in 2014. Saturn will be moving forward (towards the future) and Uranus will be looking to the past.

This presents us with a dynamic opportunity for change, especially in political circles. One way or another this looks set to be a time of high drama.

In Australia, with the new Senate now installed, there is likely to be a major turning point at this time. Matters are likely to come to a head.

In my 2014 Celestial Insights Astrology calendar I wrote:

“July 21-22 when Saturn stations direct and Uranus stations retrograde, there may be unexpected developments, or a sudden about face especially in political circles. New alternative innovations (Uranus) and old established methods (Saturn) are naturally in conflict, so the two sides of any debate may be more polarised than usual. Listen to the advice of those who have travelled the old road, but keep an open mind to new pathways.”

These simultaneous stations between planets that are natural opposites also suggest the possibility that a dialogue

could be established between the two, but with Saturn and Uranus also in a quincunx aspect and therefore in signs that have nothing in common, the polarising effects could be even more pronounced. Especially so, since both Scorpio and Aries are ruled by Mars and Mars is squaring the Sun.

At the hands of Uranus SR we can expect wild fluctuations and radical political manoeuvres behind the scenes. At the same time we are likely to see the powers that be take an even more hard line with their draconian and entrenched position as they attempt to push forward into the future with their saturnian systems and agenda.

Stationary planets hold vast stores of latent energy.

We are likely to see the current political stalemate come to a head on July 21-22. Note that parliament is due to take its winter break at this time.
