You have won the Phoenix Clan’s shugenja tournament. As a reward, you have been given a rare white orchid plant… and also, a chest full of scrolls from the Phoenix libraries. This has the following beneficial effects:

• You may immediately learn one new spell. This can be any spell which is legal in the Heroes of Rokugan campaign, including Clan secret spells.

• For purposes of skill rolls (but not Insight or Mastery Abilities), you are

considered to have one extra rank in the skills of Calligraphy, Spellcraft, and Lore (Shugenja).

• In future, whenever you increase in Insight Rank, you learn three new

spells, instead of two.
