last bout as a minimum exclusion, however to stop the
spread of contamination and reinfection 48 hours is preferred.

Many congratulations to the new President, Jackie Lock and
Secretary, Soraya Hearn. Jeff South will continue as Treasurer with the strict proviso that someone else takes over by year end.
Thank you to the outgoing Secretary Heather Charly. The Vice President role remains unfilled, so if you couldn’t make it
to the meeting, it’s still not too late.

Interschool Swimming Carnival Wrap Up
Well done to all our students who participated in this year’s swimming squad training across
the term. Your dedication to training was evident and you were rewarded with an excellent second place overall. Thank you to all the parents for your commitment to transporting your
children to the sessions and especially to Ms Walmsley and Mr Coufos for all their assistance and willingness to give so freely of their own time to assist at training. I’m sure all who attended the carnival held at Churchlands SHS pool last Friday, would agree that the carnival
was extremely well run and it was a very exciting competition. Our students competed extremely well (see photo attached for some particularly good individual achievers) and gave
the winning school Newborough PS a run for their money all day. Thanks also to the parents who willingly helped set up and pack away equipment at training sessions and assist with trials, and especially to those who volunteered and helped on carnival day.

Last Sunday 31st March the P&C held the first Colour Explosion Community Fun Run. With over 400 people taking part in the run & browsing through the market stalls and feasting on the fare provided by the food trucks, it was a very colourful, messy and fun day!
As the first event in my role as P&C President I can say it was a truly successful event! There
were so many positive comments from participants on what a well-run event it was, how much fun they had and looking forward to the next one!!
A huge thank you to all the Year 2 parents who coordinated the event and those who volunteered their time on the day to help the event run smoothly. Very much appreciated
I am excited about taking on the President role of the P&C and reinvigorating it. One of the
ways we are doing this is by mixing up the days and times of our meetings so we reach a broad range of school community.
I look forward to seeing some new and old faces at our meetings. I promise you won’t be given a task or event to run if you come along (as the events for the year are already
allocated to each year group) but you will have the opportunity to discuss items such as: - Updates to our uniform design - Voting on projects for fundraising money to be allocated to
- Community events that would benefit our P&C
Please keep an eye out over the coming week for communication of our next meeting Jackie Lock

Boys Academy Plate Tennis Competition
Congratulations to Lucas F and Kade F from year 6, and Jack G and Max H from year 5, who competed at The Boys Academy
Plate State Tennis competition on Friday 22nd March. After an incredibly long day of 7 singles and 7 doubles matches each, the
boys just missed out on playing in the grand final. In the words of the team manager Jodie Felton "not only did the boys play
amazing tennis but they also showed such sportsmanship both off and on the courts". Well done team Hillaries.

Hillarys PS P&C is excited to share that we have set up a partnership with ex West
Coast Eagles and Collingwood player Chad Morrison with his junior football academy. Our affiliation with Chad Morrison means that he has generously offered to give back
$10 per participant to our School P&C each term, for each child who signs up and participates in his academy. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from a
professional football star, whilst further supporting the growth and development of our school.
