NavrathriIn North India – Ram lila is the main attraction in northern India where the festival is celebrated the victory of Ram over the demon king Ravan. The festival is celebrated the cities and villages with much gusto. Huge effigies of Ravan and his son and brother are set to fire. Enticing firework and huge fair and feasts are organized. It is also an important festival for Sikhs. Some places like Delhi and Punjab, Hindus and Sikhs celebrate the festival together.

First 3 days:• devoted to the worship of the Goddess Durga. • Kumari, which signifies the girl child, is worshipped on the first day of the festival. •Parvati,, is worshipped on the second day•Goddess Kali is worshipped,

4th-6th day

the fourth, fifth and sixth day of Navratri are dedicated to the worship of Lakshmi - the goddess of prosperity and peace.

Goddess Saraswati is worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri. All the books and other literature materials are gathered in one place and a 'diya' is lit in front of the deity.

The seventh day is Prayers are offered Saraswati, the goddess of art and knowledge.

Ayudh pooja on 8th day.

And Durga 'yagna' is performed on the eight night.
