NEPTUNIOUS FOUNTAIN

Situated in the eastern part of Main Street (house number 50)

Was mostly used for the accomodation of military officers

French troops stayed here in 1799

Ludovít Štúr and Jozef Miloslav Hurban gave speeches to the citizens of Prešov on March 3rd, 1849

The first congress of the Slovak Cultural Workers took place here in 1922

PKO – THE BLACK EAGLE

Used as a seat of a financial institution

On the corner of Main and Levocská Streets between 1923-1924

Named after Michal Bosák

He was a Slovak immigrant to the U. S. A became one of the most significant American bankers who owned many banks

Later - a seat of the management of the Slovak Electric Works

Represents a nice example of a Vienna Sezession style architecture in Prešov

BOSAK'S BANK

Represents one of the most important educational Protestant institutions

Situated near the Evangelical Temple of the Holy Trinity

Established according to the German model as a ten-class secondary grammar school

In 1950 it became a state property

In 19th century it became one of the most well-known university in whole Hungary

The most important people had been studying here, such as M. M. Hodža, J. Záborský, L. Kossuth, P. Országh-Hviezdoslav

The most important profesors teaching here were Michal Greguš and Samuei Marek Schiller – Szinessy, who was later teaching at Cambridge university

EVANGELICAL COLLEGE

Is the only one that crosses the centre of the city
