Over the MLK weekend, 71 people, including 51 students, participated in this year’s UNITOWN camp at Independence High School. Unitown is a unique and thought-provoking experience for upperclassmen designed to empower them to take on challenges such as stereotypes and prejudices, school bullying, dating violence, and other social issues which they face. This marks the fourth year that Independence has held their Unitown camp on campus. Participating in the camp along with the students this year were 10 IHS graduates, 11 teachers, and our Principal Mr. Ambrose.

Also this year, the club designed and held a three day camp for underclassmen called Anytown. They are currently working with Washington High School to help that school develop a camp of their own.
