INFORMATION: • Size - 980 students k-12• Staff – 90 • Graduation Rate 95% • All HS students have a computer / 300 HS Students • 4 day week • All handbooks and most assignments are done on-line in
the HS
ORIENTATION: Each grade has it’s own day. Advisory teacher visit with students to plan for the day. Team building and leadership activities. (National Guard will be
available with activities, student council students will help run each day.
Each grade has a colored t-shirt they are given with their graduating year on the back. Will use the shirt all 4 years. Seniors will wear them for graduation practice.
Motivational speakerCook out Group students - teachers visit with them about expectations
and handbook rules.
*9TH GRADE ACADEMY 9th grade / Team Teach Lessons / Lab Classes • Morning all 9th graders in one section of the building.• Teachers decide on schedule. • Labs are available for projects or science class.• Team teach with other teachers (careers class) • Math classes all at the same time for 9th graders. • Last 2 hours are elective classes. • 9th grade teachers are given 30min each day to meet and
discuss programs/students / call parents/ visit with students.
• Closed Campus for lunch
CREDIT RECOVERY PROGRAM:Started for those students that got behind or move in and need a credit *This is also what we use for our summer school program
The Credit Recovery Program is getting smaller because of our ICU program.
ADVISORY PROGRAM:Each teacher has a group of 15 students (same grade and they
stay with that class until they graduate) Last 30 min. of the school day.Every teacher is involved. Advisory teachers will group students when needed. ICU /
Activities / ACT Study Group Peer Tutoring Program – Senior student will be assigned to a
student that is having trouble in a class. ISS Program has dropped 80% because of these programs.
HOW WE GOT STARTED:2010-2011* Sent a group of teachers to a ICU conference. • Started ICU Book Study/Google Talk2011 – 2012 Started - Tutoring/ICU /Advisory Time
2012 – 2013 Added to ICU Program • Morning ICU• Reward Program • 98% all quality assignments turned in.
ICU PROGRAM:We use a spreadsheet (Google) **2 Lifeguards ( 9th and 12th – 10th and 11th grades) Lifeguards call parents – Keep track of those that don’t get on ICU for drawings
each 9 weeks – Keep spreadsheet up-dated. Any student on ICU with 3 or more missing assignments will stay in during
lunch.Any student on ICU will work on assignments during Advisory. If not done will
be taken to a room for ICU.ICU is from 4-5pm or until they get done. Not a punishment. End of each nine weeks – 1:30 dismissal students not done with work will stay
until 5:00 or until done. Reward Program2013 – 98% of all students handed in all assignments!
