How can technology be utilized in creating a sense of community
amongst satellite offices?
Social Media
Social media such as Twitter, Facebook,
YouTube, smartphone applications, skype and community forums can be utilized easily for onsite and offsite locations to send out information to all employees.
• Create a Facebook group for company wellness.
• Utilize calendar for reminders, for company wellness events, daily reminders for healthy habits.
• Tie in Facebook with Twitter, to tweet status updates.
• Send out daily tweets with wellness tips.• Tweet links with wellness information• Tweet reminders• Link account with facebook, which will tweet
status updates.
YouTube
• Create YouTube channel with health and wellness tips
• Broadcast quarterly health and wellness meetings for satellite offices to view.
• Post humorous clips employees will be excited about viewing
Smartphone “Apps”
• Apps are very cost effective• Apps can have many different “options” (i.e.
points counter, calendar of events, reminders, messaging, etc.)
• Anyone who has a smartphone, can have the app at their finger tips at anytime
• Apps allow for easy communication through messaging features
• Apps increase exposure
Text/SMS Messaging
• Text/SMS messaging allows for many people to be contacted at once, with little effort
• Text/SMS messages can be sent and managed via website
• Allows instant contact with other group members
• Services available to help manage text/voice messaging (Jyngle, Frengo, Mozes & Eztexting.com)
• Enable informative screen savers that come on all computers once computers have been asleep for a certain amount of time
• Eye Catching so people will want to view the information on them
• Get people talking about the information
