How to use Tiny Scanner app

A guide written by LazyProfits.co.uk

Download the Tiny scanner app

Click on the settings icon to change the settings

We ensured the “default page size” was A4.

We decided to change the default process to “Document” so click on “Default Process”

Select “document”, then go back to “settings”

We also decided to enable Passcode

If you decide to do this, you will have to enter a passcode, then re-enter the passcode in order to confirm.

So now our settings are complete, we have:

Default page size set to: A4

Default Process set to: Document

Passcode: ON

To add a scanned document, go back to the main screen and hit the “+” symbol.

The app then says that it would like to “Access the camera”, press “OK” to allow.

You will now see the invoice that you should have you camera pointing at. Hold the phone directly over the item you wish to scan. It is best to place the item you wish to scan on a flat surface.

If you want to make sure the image is taken squarely, hit the grid button on the top right to bring up a grid.

This brings up a faint grid over the image.

When you are ready hit the circular button on screen to take the image.

It takes a few minutes to process so hold the phone steady.

The image will be shown, if you are happy with it tap “Next” if you are not happy with it, tap “Retake”

We tapped “Next”

You will then see the image on screen.

You have a number of effects on the top which you can use to adjust the image.

At the bottom of the image you can select the “greyscale” i.e. how dark or light you would like the image to be.

Once you are happy press the “tick”

The image will be shown, you can then change the document description.

We would always make sure you include a date.

We left our description as it was and pressed “done”

The image then shows on the main screen.

You can go back into the image by tapping the image.

Or you can press edit and then select the image.

You are then presented with a number of options at the bottom of the screen.

We pressed the upload button as we wanted to upload it to our email account.

You then have a number of “upload” options.

Some of these are only available on the “PRO” option.

We selected “email”

Our email then opened and we could enter the email address of the person we wanted to send the image to.

You are then told your document has been added to the send list.

Hit the “OK” button to confirm.

And here is part of our image which was sent in PDF format.

The invoice can now be stored as a digital copy and the original can be safely destroyed.
