HUMAN ACTIVITIES THAT DISRUPT ECOSYSTEM

OIL SPILL

An oil spill is the release of a liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment, especially marine areas, due to human activity, and is a form of pollution. The term is usually applied to marine oil spills, where oil is released into the ocean or coastal waters, but spills may also occur on land

The term is usually applied to marine oil spills, where oil is released into the ocean or coastal waters, but spills may also occur on land

INTENSIVE FISH CULTURE

Fish farming or pisciculture is the principal form of aquaculture, while other methods may fall under mariculture. Fish farming involves raising fish commercially in tanks or enclosures, usually for food. A facility that releases juvenile fish into the wild for recreational fishing or to supplement a species' natural numbers is generally referred to as a fish hatchery. Worldwide, the most important fish species used in fish farming are carp, salmon, tilapia and catfish

OVERGRAZING

Overgrazing occurs when plants are exposed to intensive grazing for extended periods of time, or without sufficient recovery periods. It can be caused by either livestock in poorly managed agricultural applications, game reserves, or nature reserves.

It reduces the usefulness, productivity, and biodiversity of the land and is one cause of desertification and erosion. Overgrazing is also seen as a cause of the spread of invasive species of non-native plants and of weeds.

MINING

One of the main criteria used to define illegal mining is the absence of land rights, mining license, exploration or mineral transportation permit or of any document that could legitimate the on-going operations.

DEFORESTATION

INTENSIVE FARMING

Intensive farming or intensive agriculture is a kind of agriculture where a lot of capital and labour are used to increase the yield that can be obtained per area. The use of large amounts of pesticides for crops and of medication for animal stocks is common.
