This document will walk you through step by step how to change the amounts you have allocated to Dependents/Beneficiaries for
your life insurance policy. If you need to remove a beneficiary/dependent please contact the HR department and they will remove
them for you.
Log into MyHill https://myhill.stonehill.edu
Click on the Employee Services Tab
Click on the Employee Portal link
Expand the benefits section by clicking on the down arrow in the benefits section
This will expand your choices:
Click the Open Enrollment Button

Note: You should always take this opportunity to review your beneficiaries and dependents to ensure accurate information (such as
Primary Care physician if you have an HMO) and coverages.
Click the Open Enrollment Link
Click the Start Open Enrollment button – this will bring you to selections for Health, Dental and Vision

Changing/Selecting your Health Insurance Plan In the following example the employee is switching from a PPO plan to an HMO plan.
Note in this example the HMO Plan cannot be selected. This is because PPO is currently selected. You will have to terminate the
PPO Plan first – then you can select the HMO plan. For more details look in the Changing/Selecting your Health Coverage Plan
section.
*We have to first stop the PPO deduction
Click PPO Plan

Click on Stop Benefit
This will bring you back to the previous screen where now you can select HMO Plan. Note that now next to PPO plan it reads that we
are terminating this deduction in the new year.

Select the coverage type you are enrolling in then click the Add choice Button
Now that you have made your selection click on Return to menu to complete changes.
* If you are going to make other changes to plans such as Dental or Vision please skip ahead to those sections. If you have
completed your Open Enrollment selects skip ahead to Completing my Enrollment changes

Select the plan you would like by clicking on the Radio button
Click Submit change

*To Stop the Dental benefit:
Click on the Stop Benefit button

Click the radio button for the plan you wish to choose
Click Submit Change

To stop the Vision Benefit
Click on Stop Benefit

Completing my Enrollment changes At this point you have decided on all the changes you would like to make during Open Enrollment and are ready to submit these to
the HR department for review.
Click on Return to menu to complete changes
Click the Complete Button

You have now completed Open Enrollment! Clicking the restart button will delete any selects made for the new Open Enrollment
year.
You will see a message like below letting you know you HR has your requested changes.

Log into MyHill
Click on the Employee Services Tab
Click on the Employee Portal link
Expand the benefits section by clicking on the down arrow in the benefits section

This will bring you to the summary page of your dependents/beneficiaries click on the Coverage and Allocations Summary link to
review more information
Now we can see what coverage each person currently has. In the below example we see that the child test/test is not currently
covered under the Dental or Vision plan.

Open Enrollment
During Open Enrollment - click on the Open Enrollment Button:

Then select Review Coverage

Now we can see what coverage each person currently has. In the below example we see that the child test/test is not currently
covered under the Dental or Vision plan.
To add the dependent to the Vision plan click on the coverage details link next to vision plan at the bottom of the page.

You must add a start date for the dependent. The start date should coincide with the start date for the new plan year July
01 of the current year.
Click choose or update once this is completed.

This dependent is now associated with your currently selected vision plan.
* HR reviews all dependent coverage and can make changes based on dependent eligibility.

This will bring you to the summary page of your dependents/beneficiaries click on the Add a New Person Link
Please keep in mind that adding a New Person does not by default associate them with any of your medical coverage plans. In order
to add this person to a Medical plan you will have to go through the Life Event change Process described in another help document.
You will be able to add this dependent/beneficiary to your Life Insurance allocations.

After completing all field click Submit Change and your beneficiary/dependent will be added.

Now we can see the coverage associate with each person. For Basic Life Insurance, we can see if the person is a primary or
contingent and the allocation amount. A primary beneficiary would be the first person to receive life insurance benefits with the
contingent being the second.

When we scroll to the bottom of this page we see the link next to Basic Life Insurance. Click on the link for Beneficiary Allocations

This page will allow you to update how you would like your life insurance benefit to be disbursed. The Primary would be the first
person to receive the benefit and contingent the person that would receive the benefit in the event the primary is not able to receive
the benefit. You can have more than one primary beneficiary and more than one contingent beneficiary. However, The allocation
amount must equal 100% for all those listed as a primary. The allocation amount must equal 100% for all those listed as a
contingent beneficiary.
*It is much easier to set percentages for allocations than determining flat amounts.

Click choose or Update once you have set your allocation amounts.

If you have completed making new Health Benefit Selections for Open enrollment and now would like to confirm those choices through MyHill for these steps below to verify your Open Enrollment selections. Remember, it is only when you see “You have completed Open Enrollment for Health Benefits Selection” that you have completed making new selections.
