• The San Gabriel Freeway, I-605 and the Golden State Freeway, I-5 are major north-south transportation routes
• SR -60 is a east-west transportation routes • Operational improvements are needed • Agencies & cities working together:
o Metro o Caltrans o FHWA o Gateway Cities Council of Governments
(GCCOG) o San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments
(SGVCOG)
• Corridor Cities & County: Baldwin Park El Monte City of Industry Pico Rivera South El Monte Whittier Downey Norwalk Santa Fe Springs Unincorporated LA County
Project Purpose & Goals
• Purpose: Reduce Congestion Improve Freeway Operations Improve Local and System Interchange Operations
• Goals: Enhance Mobility and Quality of Life for the Community Improve Public Safety Minimize Environmental and Property Impacts Minimize Disruptions during Construction

• Project Limits:
I-605: I-105 to I-10 (12.5 miles)
I-5: Florence Ave to Paramount Bl (3 miles)
SR-60: Santa Anita Ave to east of Turnbull
Canyon Rd (5.5 miles)
Proposed Project Improvements
• Add one Mixed Flow Lane on NB and SB I-605 • Add one High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane on NB and SB I-5 • Add one Mixed Flow Lane on WB SR-60 • Add Auxiliary Lanes as Needed
• modify system interchange connectors and local interchange ramps

• Alternative 2 - Full Standard Lane/Shoulder Widths
• Alternative 3 - Reduced Standard Lane/Shoulder Widths
• Alternative 4 - Transportation Systems Management (TSM)
