Text

A first-of-a-kind water-cooled supercomputer that will directly repurpose excess heat for ETH Zurich buildings during the winter. Aquasar will decrease the carbon footprint of the system by up to 85% and is estimated to save up to 30 tons of CO2 per year

AQUASAR

Specialized USB stick adds an extra level of security and protects online banking transactions despite attacks on personal computers

SECURITY ON A STICK

Opening in the Spring 2011 in Rüschlikon, IBM and ETH Zurich will jointly collaborate to explore the field of nanoscience in a unique partnership

NANOSCIENCE COLLABORATION

An innovative new test that can accurately diagnose dozens of diseases in minutes, instead of hours and days

ONE STEP POINT OF CARE DIAGNOSTICS

Summary

• IBM Research in Switzerland was a strategic decision

•Collaborating is critical•Don’t be fooled, we have talent here, but

we need to work globally
