1. A closer look at defining metrics
2. Many more variables which we are not used to calculating or
reporting on
Health & Wellbeing in the VE
A Closer Look at Metrics
PRODUCTIVITY
Productivity The study reviews over 300 papers from 67 journals, conference articles and books focusing on indoor environment, occupant comfort, productivity and green buildings. It limits its focus to the physical aspects of an office environment.
Productivity
O. Seppanen, W.J. Fisk, Som quantitative relations between indoor environmental quality and work performance or health. HVAC&R Res. 12(4) 957-973
• Strong correlation between human performance and indoor environmental quality, specifically temperature (thermal comfort) and ventilation (IAQ)
• Study was based on meta analysis of 26 studies conducted on a relationship between indoor air temp and air quality on occupant’s performance
Productivity

RP (%) Thermal comfort RP (%) Indoor air quality
Productivity
I can write out the equation for RP(%) thermal comfort as follows:
0.165*T – 0.00582*T² + 0.0000623*T³ - 0.468
Productivity I can write out the equation for RP(%) thermal comfort as follows:
0.165*T – 0.00582*T² + 0.0000623*T³ - 0.468
In Vista-Pro:
I have selected Air Temperature from the dropDown list and called this ‘A’
Then I have written out the equation aboveAnd called this ‘Productivity thermal comfort’
So now we’ve used an existing output of Vista-Pro(Temperature) and used it to create an entirelyNew output for Productivity
Productivity This new variable now appears as any other inVista-Pro and you can plot, chart, visualise as normal
