9:00am: Opening Circle Time
Students enter the classroom when greeted by teacher – entry routines
students meet on the carpet to complete class oral activities such as, Calendar, reviewing the Shape of the Day, and planning for their centre time.
9:20am: Centre Time
students will be learning through play, teachers may circulate and facilitate the students' play or may use this time to work with small groups of students
Possible Kindergarten Shape of the Day
10:30am:Recess
students may start preparing for recess by washing hands, locating snack, and transitioning to regular recess schedule at 10.40am
10:55am: Outside play
students might work on their large motor development on the outdoor playground or will learn through play by exploring nature and the world around them
11:45am: Class activity
this may involve a story and a response to the reading (class book, journals), or a class game or group activity
12 noon Lunch
after eating their lunch students will transition to regular lunch break schedule
12.55pm: Quiet Time
students may sit and rest , read a book or complete a puzzle on their own
1.05pmClass Gathering
students may engage in group activities such as songs, stories, and may discuss their current play or projects that they wish to continue to work on
1.30pmProject / Centre Time
students will continue to engage in play based learning and may work on any projects that they wish to explore
2.30pm: Journals
students may reflect on their day by drawing in their journals
2:45 - 3pm:Clean up and Home Time
students will clean up, collect communications, and be dismissed to caregiver
