Paso1—HardDrive

Ifnecessary,removethepiecesoftapesecuringtheharddrive/opticaldrivethermalsensorcablestoyouriMac.

Paso2

DisconnecttheharddrivethermalsensorbypullingitsconnectorupwardstowardthetopofyouriMac.

Whenremovingthisconnector,itishelpfuluseyourthumbnailstopushtheearsoneithersideoftheconnectortowardthetopofyouriMac.

Paso3

Pressingthetopoftheharddrivebracketdowntoreleaseitfromtherearcaserequiresasubstantialamountofforce.WerecommendlayingyouriMacstand-sidedownonatabletoavoidknockingitover.

PresstheharddrivebracketdowntowardthebottomedgeofyouriMactofreeitfromtherearcase,thenrotatethetopofthedrivetowardyourself.

Paso4

Rotatetheharddrivetowardyourself,thenliftitupoffitsmountingpins.

TheharddriveisstillconnectedviatheSATAcables.

Whenreinstallingyourharddrive,becarefulnottopushtherubbergrommetsthroughtheopeningsinthechassiswiththelowerharddrivepinsasretrievingthemmayrequirelogicboardremoval.

Paso5

InserttheflatendofaspudgerbetweentheSATApowercableconnectorandtheedgeoftheharddrive.

Twistthespudgertoseparatetheconnectorfromtheharddrive.

Paso6

PulltheSATApowerconnectorawayfromtheharddrive.

Paso7

DisconnecttheSATAdatacablebypullingitsconnectorawayfromtheharddrive.

Toreassembleyourdevice,followtheseinstructionsinreverseorder.
