CLOCK PARTNERS- 11 O’CLOCK PARTNER
Read and summarize the following passages as they refer to our body being sacred
1Corinthians 5.15-We are the Body of Christ
1Corinthians 6.19- Our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit
Ephesians 2.10- We are God’s Work of Art
WE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST1 CORINTHIANS 6.15 Our bodies are part of the Body of Christ;
they deserve to be respected and protected Taking care of our bodies is loving Christ Part of loving Christ is taking care of our own
bodies AND other bodies that are a member of the Body of Christ
Anytime we show a lack of respect for our body or for other people’s bodies, we are showing a lack of respect for Christ
OUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT1 CORINTHIANS 6.19
God is present in our bodies in a very special way
God lives within us so we cannot ignore his presence within
If we believe that our bodies are filled with the presence of God we cannot say “It’s my body and I can do what I want with it.”
We must never do anything to our bodies that might show a lack of respect for God, who is within
WE ARE GOD’S WORK OF ARTEPHESIANS 2.10 We are each unique and original Each one of us reflects His image in a slightly
different way; all of us together help reveal the vastness of God
Each one of us has a gift that God intends for us to share with others
We must accept these gifts and see their value and goodness
We must accept who we are stop trying to be like someone else
Journal EntryWhy do some people abuse their
bodies? Why is it considered ‘wrong’ to abuse
your body (through drugs, alcohol, poor diet, lack of exercise, etc.)
What can people do if they find themselves in this situation (abusing drugs or alcohol)
Do you know anyone or have you had any experience with this before?
