Gentronix, the ECE forum organised an interactive session for its B. Tech. final year students on 29th August 2019.. This session was taken by the 2006 pass out Alumni of Electronics & Communication Department, Mr Saurabh Dayal, Co-founder of ClearDekho.com, India's first online Optical marketplace & largest budget Optical retail chain. He shared his experiences to encourage the students to groom their entrepreneurial abilities and further motivated them to come up with their own start ups. The session was very informative and interactive.

Workshop on “MATLAB and its Application”
The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering hosted a full-day workshop under the
aegis of Gentronix (ECE Forum) entitled “MATLAB and its Application” for ECE and EN faculty and
staff in DSP lab on 10th August 2019.The resource person Mr. Akhilesh Kumar, Assistant Manager –
Technical Support, Designtech Systems Ltd., Delhi, provided thorough knowledge of Data Analysis
and deep learning using MATLAB. The workshop targeted to explore the MATLAB tools for
Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
The first Session started with the concepts of neural network . He explained the advantages of using neural data and how it can be used to to recognize patterns, classify data, and forecast future
events. Then he discussed the supervised and non-supervised learning methods of neural networks. He
enlightened the attendees with the various types of curve fitting like linear and quadratic fitting and
their implementation using MATLAB. Afterwards he described the parametric analysis.
In the second session, Mr. Akhilesh Kumar explained the Artificial Intelligence using Deep Learning, a machine learning technique that teaches computers to do what comes naturally to humans:
learn by example. Then he discussed the key technologies behind driverless cars, how they are enabled
to recognize a stop sign, or how they distinguish a pedestrian from a lamppost. It is the key to voice
control in consumer devices like phones, tablets, TVs, and hands-free speakers. Then he explained the
uses of MATLAB in deep learning . He also discussed the specialized toolboxes of MATLAB for
working with machine learning, neural networks, computer vision, and automated driving.
All faculties and staff were interactive during the practical session for getting familiar with the latest
techniques. Overall the training workshop was a knowledge enhancing event for all the participants.
The Department of ECE organized a one day National Seminar on 14th September 2019 In the sessions Eminent academicians, researchers from Universities and industry persons were invited to deliver their talk .
The Seminar started with inaugural ceremony including Lamp Lighting , Welcome address and a brief
overview about the seminar , its contents and its scope. Prof. (Dr.) B. C Sharma, Director ,Inderprastha
Engineering College was the chief patron of the seminar. Prof (Dr.) V K Gupta, Head of Department of
Electronics & Communication, Inderprastha Engineering College was the patron in the seminar. Ms.Rumi
Rastogi was the convener of the seminar. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. M.K. Seth (CGM, ALTTC,
GZB). Eminent speakers for the technical sessions were Dr. Mukhtiar Singh .
The technical sessions of the Seminar commenced after the inaugural ceremony. Each technical session
was followed by a small felicitation ceremony in which the expert speakers were felicitated.
The First Session started with Dr. Mukhtiar Singh (Prof., Delhi Technical University) . He discussed the concepts of IOT and its applications in connecting physical objects, devices, vehicles, buildings and other
items embedded with electronics, software, sensors and network connectivity that enables these objects. He
then discussed about Smart Grid technologies .Smart grid is one of the latest application of IOT . It focuses

FUTURE PERSPECTIVES”
on interaction with environment rather than with human beings. He then described the implementation of
Smart objects viz. Intel Galileo, Arduino Uno, Raspberry Pi and Beaglebone Black. The session was
enriched with deeper understanding on the concept .
Mr. Akhilesh Patel (Asst. Manager, Design Tech Systems, Delhi) took the second session on
digital Twin and industrial IOT. He discussed the digital twin technique and its applications in industrial
IOT. Few of the application of Digital Twin are Operations optimization, Predictive maintenance,
Anomaly detection, Fault Isolation. He then demonstrated the implementation of digital twin using
MATLAB and Simulink example. He also discussed about the scope of IOT in various industries and
manufacturing units viz. Smart agriculture, smart meters , wearable etc.
The session concluded with vote of thanks by convenor Ms. Rumi Rastogi.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a training on "IOT basics using
Arduino Uno", for its second year students to make them aware about IOT and its significance in current
era. The training was conducted from 21-22 August, 2019. The sessions were conducted by the final year
students. A team of five student trainers from final year, trained second year students on Arduino Uno. The
following final year student trainers were involved in conducting the training :Abhigyan Sharma ,Sumit ,
Anumayank ,Abhishek Saha and Sonali.
The objective of this training was to encourage peer mentoring in the department and give an exposure of
"Internet of Things" to the second year students, as this is an emerging area now a days. The sessions
covered the basics of microcontroller, Arduino board programming and internet of things applications. The
training concluded with motivational talk by HOD (ECE) Prof. (Dr.) V.K Gupta. The interested students
were encouraged to work in IOT design lab for better exposure and skill upgaradation. The student trainers
were felicitated with Certificates of appreciation for their dedication and efforts in conducting this training.

The ECE forum, Gentronix ,organized a workshop on ESDM (Electronic System Design & Manufac-turing) on 24th September 2019 for ECE 3rd year students in EN Seminar hall. The resource person, Mr. Deepak Kumar Gahlot (Director, Trax Circuits, Delhi) delivered the contents on electronic system designing in a very fruitful manner
Electronics industry is the world’s largest and fastest growing industry and is increasingly finding applications in all sectors of the economy. The Government of India attaches high priority to electronics hardware manufacturing and it is one of the important pillars of both “Make in India” and “Digital India” programmes.
Mr. Deepak shared the statistics about annual growth, revenue, market share of EDSM . He discussed the needs of skilled man power to cope up with global demand in this area. He also discussed the various initiatives taken till date to Promote Industry-led R & D and innovation in all sub-sectors of electronics, including grass root level innovations and early stage Start-ups in emerging technology are-as such as 5G, loT/ Sensors, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Virtual Reality (VR), Drones, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, photonics , Nano-based devices etc.
HOD ECE (Dr.V. K. Gupta) and Convener Gentronix (Ms. Meenakshi Sharma) felicitated
Mr. Gahlot for his commendable inputs.
Workshop on “ESDM (Electronic System Design &
