Festival’s objectives
A peaceful forest, full of joy, light and spirituality - this is the image
evoked by TAPOVAN, where sages of India practiced their yoga.
This symbolical name illustrates the ideal towards which we aim
at.
For the last 30 years, Tapovan helps people to progress towards
a greater welfare physically, mentally and spiritually and move
towards an inner harmony and a greater understanding of
themselves.
• Promote environmental issues, Ayurveda, art and culture
• Put forward the need for a responsible attitude towards ecological problems
• Be aware of our own health and well being as well as of the Earth
• Create the opportunity to share and meet international eminent personalities
• Give the opportunity to gain knowledge and information from experts in various field,
whether it is in literature, music, ecology, environment, health or well being
• Celebrate the 30 years of Tapovan
Tapovan took its inspiration from Nalanda and Takshashila, ancient universities of
antic India, where studies not only developed the intellect but also sensibility,
emotions, creativity, psychological and spiritual openness to create an
« Open University of yoga and Ayurveda ».
Our main activities include:
•Seminars and courses (in Ayurveda, massage, yoga)
•Ayurvedic retreats and treatments
•Forums, International symposiums and get togethers
Today, Tapovan is recognized as the one of the most authentic centers in Europe for
the training of yoga and Ayurveda, at the parting of East and West.

Since 9 years, Tapovan is happy to organise an International Symposium on Ayurveda with eminent personalities and experts from all over the world.
Doctors, nurses, students, lovers of Ayurveda and all those who are in search of a new understanding of their health and well being attend this event, unique in Europe.
The symposium is interactive, lively, informative and luminous. It takes place in the sublime and blossomed countryside of Normandy, where you can truly live the ayurvedic art of being through ayurvedic cuisine,
organic vegetable green house and a wonderfully calm atmosphere.

A millenary medicine Developped 2500 years ago, the Ayurvedic medicine lays down a different approach to health, on
the ways to maintain it and know what is good for you. Ayurveda, litteraly « the knwoledge of life » is a holistic medecine that has for aim a healthy life.
A wonderful opportunity to learn more about the three factors of health: food (ahara), lifestyle (vihara) and mind (manovyapara).

May 14 - 16 Study of Nada Yoga (the primordial and cosmic sound) - Mantras – Introduction to Indian music: ragas
(melodic modes), thalas (rhythms) and recognition of different notes that lead to Nada yoga.
Practice of postures , pranayama, meditation, recitation of mantras and "nada pasana“. Open to all students with a foundation of yoga. Possibility of learning tabla (consult us).

We will connect with the most powerful force that humans have: the earthly divine feminine. During this workshop,
we will discuss women’s issues through the life cycle from the perspective of authentic Ayurveda: nurturing,
fertility, loneliness vs. solitude and the need for partnership and intimacy, maternal instinct, spiritual hunger, second
chakra cravings for creation, and the realities of a woman’s body cycles.
We will experience the “mind-body-senses-spirit”
concepts discussed in Ayurveda and their application to your world.
