Masharie, the private equity investment arm of Dubai Invest-ments PJSC, has announced the formation of a new joint venture MEP company in conjunction with Al Arif Investment.
Power Factor Electromechani-cal Works will offer turnkey MEP solutions and offi ce automation systems for the construction in-dustry. The joint venture agree-ment was recently signed by Abdulaziz Bin Yagub Al Serkal, CEO of Masharie and Hamad Abdul Karim Al Arif, chairman of Al Arif Investment.
“Power Factor is a strategic ad-dition to our portfolio, as Masha-rie already has several compa-nies operating in the fi eld of building materials and construc-tion supplies and services. It will further diversify the group’s presence within the construction sector and also will benefi t from
Dubai’s Masharie powers up new MEP companysynergies within the group,” said Al Serkal.
The management and work-force, both with long experience in executing major contracting projects, were sourced from within the group as a whole. Power Factor offers the entire spectrum of MEP works, and also specialises in the design, in-stallation and commissioning of offi ce automation systems.

The Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZ) Engineering Depart-ment has awarded International Electromechanical Services (IEMS) with a certifi cate of ap-preciation for its quality services in implementing the electrical and mechanical works in the free zone’s construction projects.
“IEMS has been an excellent partner with us over the last few years, executing a great deal of work in the electrical and mechanical areas in four of our main projects, including East Wings 5 and 6 and West Wing 7, in addition to the head offi ce building construction,” said engineering executive director Eng. Adel Ghafan.
He said the company had pro-vided DAFZ’s projects with “the
best electrical and mechanical works, with the highest quality of implementation and quick re-sponse in line with relevant in-ternational specifi cations.”
DAFZ’s partnership with Dubai-based IEMS had “enabled us to complete our projects on time and to the best level of in-ternational standards, putting more emphasis on safety and environmental issues.”
“We are quite privileged to be honoured by DAFZ,” said IEMS executive director Joseph
Coutinho. “The certifi cate is valuable evidence of the commit-ment of our company to quality service, adhering to completion timeframes and, most impor-tantly, our commitment to cus-tomer requirements.”
IEMS acknowledged for quality role IEMS was established in the
UAE in 1968, and since then the contractor has executed a large number of electrical and me-chanical works for various pres-tigious projects, including air-ports, seaports, hotels, research centres and factories.
