Introduce

yourself in 60

seconds

• A well edited and precise CV of about 2-3 pages

• Thoroughly go through your CV the night before

• Have at least 3 copies

• Carry relevant certificates

• Research about the company, location, senior management and financial turn over or profits, employees, new products/services

• Research about your position and what you are coming in to offer

• Research on the firm’s new development and stories

NERVOUSNESS

• Try and control your breathing

• Clear your mind

• Avoid checking your phone i.e distractions

• Go through your qualification and experiences in your mind

INTERVIEW DAY• Transport: Keep in mind Traffic, Weather or Rush Hours or unforeseen

accidents • Nice Colored Suit (Black, Grey, Blue) - Fitting Suit Tailored if possible• Ladies – Appropriate dressing and make up • Carry Shoe Brush, Handkerchief, Hair comb • Arrive early and head to the bathroom to do a spot check.• Carry your bag/folder on left hand to allow you to shake guests with

the right hand• Firm handshake exudes confidence

BODY LANGUAGE

• Certain "power poses" don't just change how others perceive you, Professor Cuddy says. They immediately change your body chemistry.

Researchers already know that nonverbal communication affects how others perceive you and feel about you. For example, a 1-second glimpse of a candidate's face allows people to predict the winner of 70% of Senate and Gubernatorial races.

• Some interviewers say its all about high power poses that make a successful candidate.

Please introduce yourself…..

• Smile!

• Stick to your profession and academics

• Apologizing or thanking too much might make the interviewer view you as a pretender.

• Be audible enough

• Tell me about your weaknesses and strengths?

• Tell me a moment you have experienced failure?

• Express a moment where your leadership or skills were applied to make a task/project a success?

•How much do want to be paid?

Answering Questions

• Thank the interviewer for the question

• Avoid making funny faces

• Maintain a good eye contact

• If you haven’t understood the question please ask for it to be repeated

• Answer questions fully and direct

• Be a keen listener

• Keep answers brief to allow more questions from Interviewer

• Avoid saying “That’s a good question”

• After the interview thank the entire panel for their time
