With the power

of

Dua’

What is

Dua’?

What is Dua’?

• Supplication• A petition, a request, a desire, a wish, a need, a

want• Loosely translated in English, you can say prayer

or supplication, but it is so much more than that. • A weapon of a believer• Essence of worship. Dua’ is a common

indispensable element  among  every  faith

In Short

• Dua’ (prayer) is a form of Ibaadat (worship) - a powerful Ibaadat that can create and alter Qismat (destiny), and Allah is generous and if His servant raises his hands towards Him, He answers it.

• We can make Dua’ for anything and everything that we need including guidance, forgiveness, paradise, solution to problems – best in this life and the Hereafter

Dua’ goes hand in hand with gratitude

First word in the Quran

AlhamdullilahAll praise and gratitude belongs to Allah (The God)

Dua’ goes hand in hand with gratitude

"And remember when your Lord proclaimed: IF YOU ARE GRATEFUL, I will surely INCREASE YOU."

[Surah Ibrahim 14:07]

Dua’ goes hand in hand with gratitude

ون, ف&ر& ( H ل,ى و)ال) ت وا &ر& ڪ & و) ك & ك ( ,ىK أ ون &ر& ك مف) م ٱ م م م م ٱ

So remember Me, and I will remember you, and be thankful to Me and be not ungrateful to Me.

(Surah Baqarah 2: 152)

Dua’ A Total Win-Win

• More Dua’ means more remembrance of God!• A worship that can be done irrespective of any

state you are in• You can make Dua’ in your own language and in

your own time and in any place.• Sometimes you don’t even need words in a Dua’. It

is just a spiritual connection between you and your Lord.

Why should we make

Dua’?

We are always in need

Human beings are always in need of something because we are not self

sufficient. Whereas God (Allah SWT) is self sufficient

AS-SAMAD. He does not need anything from anyone. We need Him, he does not

need us.

Asking the One who is capable of giving

• He is capable of giving and He loves to give

• When you ask something from a person vs. when you ask something from Allah

Because He knows

Allah is close to every one of us. He has the knowledge of our wishes, feelings, thoughts, every word uttered,

anything whispered and even what is concealed deep in our thoughts.

He knows and hears everyone who turns to Him and makes Dua’ to Him.

Because He told us to ask Him

“And when my servants ask you about Me, then no doubt about it I am near. I respond to the call of

one when he prays to Me. So let them respond to Me, and have faith in Me, so that they may be on

the right path.”

(Surah Baqarah 2:186)

Because He told us to ask Him

• This is God’s blessing on mankind and a manifestation of His mercy, grace and infinite power.

• Notice the use of word When instead of If• Allah says that I am near – implying that He is already

near. And we know that Allah has mentioned in the Quran that He is closer to each one of us individually – Closer than our jugular vein (Surah Qaf 50:16)

• For answering the Dua’, Allah uses the word Ujeeboo which means I answer immediately – not that I will answer or I try to answer

Because He told us to ask Him

Your Master has said: “Call Me, I will respond to you. (Surah Ghafir 40:60)

Because His Prophet (PBUH) reminded us

The messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, said:

“Shall I introduce to you a weapon which will protect you both from the evils of enemies and increase your sustenance?”

They said: Yes, O Messenger of God.

He said: “Call upon your Master day and night, for “Prayer” is the weapon of a believer.”

Understanding the philosophy of

Dua’

etiquettes of

Dua’

Three things you need to make Dua’

Clear your mind from the distractions of the world, Bow your head

and Raise your hands!

Focus – Humility - Gratitude

Maximum Achievement

• Sincere Intentions• Strong belief in the One you are asking and His attributes• Be inspired - Love Him and thank Him for guidance.• Ask for immense help from Allah - Aim big• Have an intense desire for the best in this world and also in paradise• Visualise yourself with your loved ones in paradise in perfect

happiness and contentment• Along with Dua’, use all resources around and take action to achieve in

this life and afterlife

Examples of powerful

Dua’

Enough for me is Allah

Enough for me is Allah. There is no God but He. In Him, I have placed my trust, and He is the Lord of the great throne.

(Surah Al-Tawba 9: 129)

The All-Hearing, The All-Knowing

,يم& ع)ل م,يع& لس2 )نت) 2ك) أ ,ن 2ا إ 2 م,ن )ق)ب )ا ت 2ن ب مر) ٱ ٱ م

Our Master! Accept (this service) from us. Indeed, You and You alone – are the All-Hearing and the

All-Knowing!(Surah Baqarah 2:127)

Nothing is hidden from Him

Our Master, surely You know what we conceal and what we reveal. For nothing whatsoever is hidden from Allah, whether

on the Earth or in the Heavens.Surah Ibrahim (Abraham) 14: 38

Whatever we have inside us, Allah already knows about it. We do not need to carry the guilt, shame and fear. We must always ask Him for forgiveness

and carry on. So Dua’ is a powerful tool to let things go, allowing ourselves to rise your personality
