Digital Fault Recorder and PQ Recorder or Phasor Measurement Unit.
SIMEAS R has two different device applications depending on firmware:
SIMEAS R V3.0 – DFR & PQSIMEAS R-PMU – DFR & PMU
Data Applications: Very fast data sampling to correlate faults, phasors, PQ, SOE events.Reports phasors according to IEEE C37.118-2005 Level 1.
System Software: OSCOP P with automated data processing features and optional fault location module.
Mounting: Panel or Rack-mount.
Operating Temperature: -5 to +55oC.

OSCOP P is a complete system for parameterization, retrieval and analysis of DFR data and transient and continuous phasor records.

Level trigger (min/max): Monitoring of the AC and DC analog measuredvalues for observance of min/max limit values.
Gradient trigger (rate of change): Monitoring of mean squared analog measured values for rate of change during a parameterized filter time.
Binary trigger: Monitoring state changes at the binary inputs.
Manual trigger: Via keypad on the control panel or via OSCOP P.
External trigger: Via control input.
Network trigger: SIMEAS R-PMU when triggered sends start signal to otherSIMEAS R-PMU devices via the Ethernet network.
Logical trigger (TAR only): Logical AND connection of up to 8 digital inputs.

Synchronization Requirements
High precision clock (< 5 µs) is required to conform to IEEE C37.118-2005 standard for a 1% Total Vector Error (TVE).
Siemens supplies a Hopf GPS Clock (Model 6875) that is specially adapted for phasor measurements (Siemens PN 7XV5664).

Certified to Level 1 by TUV NORD.
The SIMEAS R-PMU was certified for both measurement accuracy and network data functionality.
The SIMEAS R-PMU was tested under static as well as the dynamic conditions that could be expected in real networks.
Development of this new testing procedure was performed by Magdeburg scientists in conjunction with researchers at Virginia Tech University.
